Jackson certainly has the stature to take this risk on. He can hire guys to scout and hp him get under the cap, and he knows what a championship team looks like. If Dolan can keep his big nose out of the way and let Jackson work, that's the important step.

you know.. I love Marv, loved him doing the Knicks, but he's wrong here. I mean the guy was paid by MSG and quite well. I know those were horrible teams to watch and announce for, but you cant trash the bosses team like he did. I mean this is just the real world talking here. Some may respect him more for "calling it like he saw it" and thats cool, but he acted all suprised.
Sprewell was a free spirit also and he did OK here.

Personally I'm wary of the move- is Phil 100% committed? I like the idea of limiting Dolans input and getting rid of Mills, but as long as Dolan plans on intervening with his mindless crap there doesn't seem any point!
Just my impression of PJax is that he's a man who has a lot of personal pride. That to me says that he's putting all of that on the table and challenging himself with a new career. Being the head man for a very storied franchise and one with such a strong personal significance, I can't see him taking this lightly. I think he'll put his all into this job. I think he'll be respected by anyone he talks to and that is a plus for this organization. EVERYONE wants a bit of that knowledge and championship magic Phil has. We haven't had that kind of experience in our front office and i'm willing to give Phil a clean slate and trust to see how he envisions building a title team.
Love it. And even if it all ends horribly, the Zen Master will just proceed with finally spilling all the Dolan beans in his next book.

I much as I detest Dolan, when Isiah was putting us into cap hell Dolan pretty much stepped aside and let Zeke do his thing. He's left Sather alone for over a decade. Although we all know that the Knicks are more important to Dolan than the Rangers it makes me think that Dolan is capable of stepping aside, especially for a guy who has the resume of Jax.
Dolan is a jerk but he is loyal jerk. Just think of all the dumb moves the man has made over the years, especially with coaches. I can't see Jackson coming to us being bad in any way, especially when considering that Jackson must have laid down the law.
All I can say is that it will be interesting to see what happens once Phil is introduced.
