Of course. Personally I was never 100% sold on Landry and thought Shump would be better than he has shown.
THJ can play. His defense needs some work as does his consistency but I think this kid will work his butt of during the summer to improve his game. Considering where we drafted him he has been of the best rookies in the league this year and the 36 he dropped during All star weekend is not too shabby.

Me neither but I like what I've seen thus far and definitely consider him a keeper.

I was never sold on Landry I don't think he's a bad back up in the right system..
Shump the potential is there I think he blossoms on the bench less pressure can work on his offense he's a nice back up ala shandon Anderson.. With room to be a lot better. Glad we didn't pull the trigger for collision we can do better plus lets see shump with a healthy off season first.

Shumpert going back to his college days until now has always sucked on offense. I have not seen anything that would make me think this will improve. He's been consistently bad. Good defender though - maybe he can master the 3 and be a Bruce Bowen type on the right team.

I also don't think it's fair to compare fields or shump to THJ. Unlike those two, THJ is a pure shooter and has a polished offensive game. Even if his D never comes around, he'll be a a quality NBA 6th man and that is basically the worst case I see. If he develops in other areas he could be a solid starting 2 guard by his 3rd year.
Nobody thought Fields was going to be a star; some of us just thought he'd be a great hustle and team player off the bench who could do a lot of little things. Basically we thought he'd be a nice role player, that was his ceiling. In the end it didn't seem like he had the mental toughness to be that kind of guy, and without a lot of talent, a lack of mental toughness will bury your career in a hurry. Speaking of which, a lot of Shump's problems are between the ears as well. The injury had to stunt his development, we can all agree on that. We expected more, because we thought he could at least be ok on O (he's not), while being a stud on D (he's not). You really don't know how durable someone is going to be or how solid they'll be mentally, until they play for a few years. But I think in the case of Hardaway, being who is and all, we're a lot less worried about his mental makeup.
Barring injury in a couple of years,
Worst case: Instant offense rotation guy or 6th man on a good team.
Best case: Above average starter, 3rd best player on a good team.
Most likely case: Serviceable starter at what has become a weak position in the league; not quite enough on D, but makes up for it with his O most of the time.

He Has a offensive game chandler wishes he had.Tyler looked great in the summer league ... he's 22 so he's got a little ways to go.but lots of people watching him jvg,hubie brown, lots of fans can see he's very talented he can become something special he needs more time on the floor..

Well ... he was not a shooter yet he was defended to the bitter end.
Anyway, THJ is not landry fields (as a shooter) but has many holes in his game. Time will tell if he will have sustainability but I certainly would like him to remain a knick and not be involved in any trades.
I would like to see far more consistency as a shooter / shot taker, and would like him to smarten up on defense (though I think he has actually improved a tiny bit recently)

49 pct shooting to 43 percent. That is a HUGE difference!
I like Tyler and he has a nice motor but special? Don't know about that, let me see a special season.
Mark your words about Shump? He just needs to work on his confidence and shot? How many times have I heard that before. I think that he can be a decent bench player especially on defense. He is one of the worst decision makers and finishers that I've seen in a while (for a starter).
Unfortunately, his stock is really low and I wish we traded him a long time ago. He will always be a negative sum offensive player and a pretty good defender (if he stays healthy which is a big if).
