Love that lineup. Although, we would probably pull our hair from Asik fumbling all the passes going his way.
We don't have to retain Asik. See what's out there but productive 7footers don't grow on trees. He always reminded me of Luc Longely. Maybe he will have a role in Phil's system

I hope so. 2 attributes that Asik has is rebounding and defense. He is a horrible shooter and has hands of stone. He does set really good picks but his hands keeps him from being effective.

No worries, their hair is probably gone from all the Tyson fumbles.
Deciding to move on w/o Melo is still very much an option. If this is the case, TRADING HIM will be the only acceptable alternative. Letting him walk for nothing should not be an option.
The more teams that enter the picture for him, the bigger the market will be. I'm glad Houston has entered the picture here -- even if there's zero truth to it, other interested teams (Lakers, the Bulls) will never know that for certain. This drives the market up -- the more teams involved, the bigger the market becomes and hopefully the incoming return packages become more competitive. Houston's got a lot of nice young pieces besides Lin & Asik -- Parsons, Beverely, Terrance Jones, Donatas Motiejunas, Greg Smith, Isaiah Canaan, Robert Covington.
Of course you'd have to hope Dolan stays out of Phil's way in pursuing a trade with the rockets

That is the biggest hurdle.
bottom line... Melo had to be discussed. You dont hire a guy to run your team without hearing his thoughts. I have to assume whatever happens with Melo will be Phil's wish.
Walsh wasnt perfect but you have to give a GM a chance to do his thing. Im totally open to this. Should be pretty exciting either way
We got our 2015 pick and whatever picks we get back for melo

1st thing we need is for Houston to fail again in the playoffs. A 2nd round loss to San Antonio would be great. Morey would feel that he needs that 1 last piece to get to the WCF.
So would you rather trade him to the Rockets for some sort of combo of Asik, Lin, Parsons/picks, or Bulls for picks, expiring Boozer, Butler & Snell?
Yup. Otherwise they are not trading Parsons
In the last the Knicks would never consider trading a stadium stuffer like Melo but with Phil it's different. Hopeful we stop trading every pick and assets too

Rockets all the way. To the bulls is rockets don't budge and you are losing Melo for nothing
I'm not crazy about trading mo for nothing but caps pace when the 2015 FA class is underwhelming. It's not like Lebron, Durant and Irving will be out there. At that point I would rather keep Melo at the right price. A trade like the rockets one would be perfect and we would have cap space for Love

Yes, Phil Jackson is known for wanting to be associated with nothing but B-grade players. Either of these will definitely happen under his watch.

Parsons is not a B-Grade player. I would even dare say that he is in the Scottie Pippen mold. His play really remind me of Scottie.
I've only read the thread title, so I'm not sure what's been said to date, but...
That could never work because everyone says that Melo drove Lin out of town. Right?
Whatever. For all the crap he gets on these boards and in the press, there's not a team out there that wouldn't go after him if they had the cash or the trade assets. And add him to the Rockets and you've got a new top contender in the west.
Again Melo isn't going anywhere he's going to retire in orange and blue.... Again he's not going anywhere and I love it
