Very good article....I Was thinking about Shump's role now that PJax is aboard and how he might be rejuvinated. I can see Shump auditioning for the Ron Harper/Brian Shaw role of big combo guard next year being that the cap will limit us in what we can do. Shump really needs to work on his handle, mid range jumper and pace, but he has the physical tools to play that position...

This is a guy who once paid all his players on the Albany Patroons the same salary to emphasize the notion of team over self. He used to beat a Native American drum and summon players to the Bulls’ “tribal room” for important meetings. He made teams practice in the dark to acclimate them to chaos. In preseason, he lined his players up along the baseline and spoke to them: “God has ordained me to coach you young men, and I embrace the role I’ve been given. If you wish to accept the game I embrace and follow my coaching, as a sign of your commitment, step across that line.”

Thats being prepared

I'm not so sure Jackson is here to implement the triangle or have his fingerprint on a coaching phylosophy the way Riley had with Spoelstra..The Knicks have some huge personalities on the team along with a demanding media market..I'm not sure Jackson will risk his legacy throwing an unknown in there...We will see..It's good to have Zen Master on board tho..We needed a guy like this in the organization a very long time ago..Welcome home Phil "Action" Jackson..
