Jackson was my choice before Danphoney came aboard, I say NO to Ewing.

When Charlotte's coach got ejected from the game against the Knicks Ewing looked clueless when he stepped in as the coach. He only got coaching jobs from the Vandummy clan(Stan and Jeff who he helped become the coach of the knicks- It's why Stan hired him in Orlando ) and his boy Jordan looked out for him. We need someone who wore the blue orange and white , but also who knows what they are doing and can handle the media expectations.

What loyalty has Mark Jackson demonstrated to the Knicks. The dude played with us for part of his rookie season. I don't think that makes him Knick royalty. Even if it did, it doesn't mean that he is qualified for what we want to do. Pass!

He was with us for 5 years. Not that I care about that.

Yeah, you're right. I meant to say rookie contract, to demonstrate the fact that he wasn't here for very long at all. I'm not sure why guys try to revere the guy, as though he were Patrick. Even then, it's irrelevant because the coach should be someone best suited to Phil's plans. Jackson isn't that and to be honest, the guy kinda irritates the shit out of me.

By the way, the best teams we witnessed here in NY in over 4 decades was coached by a Laker.....

I think that fans are looking for a black ex knick.

Starks, Oak, Mase, BLACKmon. Ron Harper (not bad), G Anthony? Landry Fields (he's black enough)? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOohhhhoooooohhh I gut one, how about Ewing? David Buter?

Let Phil do his job.

All joking aside, I think fans want someone with a proven track record. I think Mark Jackson is good choice for a younger roster. Our guys have been in the league too long for that "rah, rah" stuff. Kerr could be a good coach someday. I'd just prefer it if we went with someone with a bit of a track record. Mike Fratello would be at the top of my list along with Lionel Hollins and JVG.
mreinman @ 3/31/2014 1:15 PM
The question is can a little white guy who was brought up in Islamist Beirut coach a big black dude who claims to be an israeli?

I would keep a close eye that this does not EXPLODE

HUGE no to Hollins. Hollinger outed him.

Fratello has been a hasbeen for like ever and I don't like his hair.

I would love JVG but not under Jax. No freakin way that can work. ditto for stanley

Fratello won nearly 50 games with a big a three of Chris Mill, Bobby Phills and Terrell Brandon. That makes him a miracle worker in my book. as for Hollins, the dude can coach. Coaches clash with front office guys all the time. Look at the way JVG cried over the Camby trade. doesn't take away from JVG as coach.

I think we should hire Marbury to coach. He was a Knick. Once a Knick, always a Knick

You mean two-time China league champ and international superstar Stephon Marbury? I'm down as long as he doesn't force management to build a statue outside MSG.

He's boys with Marv. I'm sure he can find a nice, understated hair piece to wear on the sidelines.

It would be a story of redemption. A boy from Coney Island makes it big in the NBA, crashes when he returns to his hometown and is forced to go to the far east where he learns what it takes to become a true leader. Did I just write a brief synopsis of the plot of "He Got Game 2"?

All jokes aside, that'd be one hell of a movie.

but then who would be the mole? Ewing? I DONT THINK SO.

Leave Herb alone, he is very good at what he does.

I love MJax. I really wanted him to be hired when Walsh hired D'Antoni. Not sure if he is a good fit with what PJax wants to do. I would be fine if he was hired but my guess is PJax has his eye on someone.
playa2 @ 4/1/2014 6:05 AM
Look, the question is what is the style of play is Phil Jackson looking for ?

That's when we will know what type of coach he's looking for.

What coach who knows the triangle will these veterans listen too ?

I don't think we will be running the triangle unless Phil is on the bench like Isiah was.

Yes, fans in ny want someone with a winning track record. Like Lenny, Like Larry, Like Isiah, Like MDA............but we have to go with potential not past performance. Phil would do it but he knows his body won't let him put the hours in. He'll hire someone hungry that COULD get the job done.

But it won't be instantly.

Fans rarely have imagination and want that starphuch. I do too, but its time to go in a different direction.

If the Knicks do make it to the postseason — and that remains a big if, despite the Hawks’ problems — some around the league consider them a dangerous opponent. Mark Jackson, the coach of the Warriors, cited Anthony as an enormous factor, impossible to ignore.
“You got a home run hitter in your lineup,” Jackson said. “You got a guy that’s capable of winning games single-handedly, a guy who makes everyone around him better.

That nails it, although I'm not sure which way it nails it. I wonder if MJax has secret ties to CAA?

Or maybe he's really talking about JR?
