This was my dream trade with Portland for the trade deadline but Lopez performed to well. My only hope would be for Portand to overreact to a bad performance in the playoffs. I do think that Tyson would fit great in Portland because of his PnR spacing he provides and he would probably play great in a contract year on a contender.

Lopez is far more valuable to Portland than Tyson would be. I wish they were that dumb

I think Portland needs to stay home and let Howard beat them. Let Howard take everyone else out of their rhythm.

agree. the double teaming is not working.

They should also force harden to go one on one and take bad shots.

Smart. McHale puts in Lin and has him run the offense instead of Harden.

Much better "team" play.

They don't have to force Harden to do that, because that's a given. Harden saving grace is Ft shooting. His bad shot selection is bailed out due to the refs. His great passing helps too. Mchale should increase his catch and shoot opportunities going forward and get him back to his OKC days.

He is extremely efficient in Houston (TS = 62!!). Even better than OKC even with his much higher USG rate. His 2 point FG which was always his issue is 51.5. That's awesome.

He has to not go Hero ball in the playoffs and continue to let the game come to him. This is what Melo often did in the playoffs.

Ball movement is everything.

If Portland can keep it close it will get good in the 2nd half. Despite everything Houston is doing they still have not pulled away. Their still is a lot of time left in the 1st half but Portland just needs to keep pace with Houston and maintain pressure on them. Portland needs to score after this timeout or it may get ugly.

Aldrige is going all "last year Hibbert" in the playoffs. Efficiency is coming from nowhere. I still scratch my head at some of his shots but every player takes bad shots.

I am impressed with D. Howard and him stepping up on both ends but I am also impressed with Portland as a team for taking the punches and going in the half ties up. The 3rd qtr will be key. Will they fold like ATl or keep up the good play?

He is just on this series. Don't really care for his rainbow shot selection.

this to me is the most exciting series of the playoffs.

Aldridge is flowing though. I give him credit for having it going on both ends too. He kind of slowed down Howard in the 1st half too.

Let's see what he does for the full playoffs. You are the one who introduced me to his low percentages, I was not even aware how low it was.

Btw, I am trying to find a sight that tracks passes per touches and assist opportunities per touch. NBA.com has them separate (e.g.):

http://stats.nba.com/playerTrackingPassi...

and I don't want to do all the dirty work. I have seen these stats before but I can't find them.

mreinman @ 4/23/2014 11:36 PM
harden is really looking pretty awful
holfresh @ 4/23/2014 11:37 PM
Chris Webber is right..Old school hoops...great game ..
tkf @ 4/23/2014 11:39 PM
Aldridge 16-22 from the field.. now that is what I call "highly efficient"....

or maybe he should miss a few more two point shots and make up for it by jacking up some threes...

Yeah, I know that's why I am surprised but will give credit. It's just two games but if he keeps it up look out. Indy became dominant because Hibbert turned his 49 TS% into a 57 TS%.

Also, if you find those stats post a link for me, Thanks.

Wow is all I can say.
