I'm not sure he's the best coach for GS but firing him outright isn't smart.

" . . . Curry is no CP3 . . . GS is really small"
Curry couldn't carry GS but I'd say he was Paul's equal, perhaps better. Curry should have played better and Paul clearly played better defense but Paul had some crummy quarters. Yes, GS could have used Bogut, Ezeli, and O'Neal.

perhaps I am being a bit harsh ... I did not like his play calling

He may be fired but it won't be because of this series. GS is a mess.

holfresh @ 5/4/2014 2:02 AM
Well they should get someone who can make them play better...Good Luck..
NumberTwoPencil @ 5/4/2014 2:30 AM
I agree, Jackson isn't good with Xs and Os and I'd guess various players need specialized coaching that Jackson hasn't handled well. GS has some assets and a few trades, a smart draft, and maybe a new coach might help but they are pretty good, barring injuries, as they are. Curry, Thompson, Ezeli, Crawford, Greene, give or take a few players, are likely to get better and, again, injuries aside, none of their players are likely to get worse. A refreshed coaching staff, with or without Jackson (I'd keep him), a few trades and GS should be slightly better come play off time than this year's team. Or, Lacob could f&&* it all up and can Jackson, trade Curry, and insult Jeremy Lin after signing him and the Warriors will revert to the Warriors.

I've seen you give other coaches a pass because of roster and GSW has a really bad one especially when BOgut went down. That wiped out their rim protection and you need that in the playoffs.

Their bench is really pathetic and when you need to rely on Green, Crawford, and Speights to score you are in trouble.

smackeddog @ 5/4/2014 6:40 AM
What a wash out- all the teams I wanted to win, lost! Bah!

Golden state aren't that good, but Marc Jackson, flawed as he is, got the best out of them. Firing him is purely due to personal issues between him and the owner.

YOU put ZERO stock in metrics because YOU saw a game where YOU thought the the stat sheet did not tell the full story?

There for YOU put ZERO stock in metrics?

strange.

people are so egotistical when it come to judging their own judgement

Same could be said of the metrics people!

Nothing wrong with valuing your own judgement and trusting it- all basketball is subjective. These playoffs have been crazy- clutch shots, OTs- there's more to the game than just numbers and efficiency.

Firstly, the stat sheet never tells the entire story..These post put up here are people's opinion..Some are backed by facts, others are just their own judgement..This has nothing to do with ego..Because I don't agree with your approach doesn't mean that I'm right nor does it mean that u are right..It only means we don't agree on a point...The quest in these pages is not to seek homogeneous thinking but rather a varied approach to capture a different view on things that may or may not lead to enlightenment..

How can you ague for metrics when the most successful coach in the NBA, who you currently think is out of the with the game and you have stated as much, PHIL JACKSON, in recent discussions, don't/didn't even use it..But somehow managed to net 11 Championship rings..

So Who is ego tripping??

I'm still waiting for you list of coaches who uses metrics that have been successful..

Maybe you're right. I hope jax stays in gs so that we can lock up kerr.

They don't always show everything but zero? uh no.

there needs to be a combination between the stats and then watching a player to see where the stats did not tell the whole story (e.g. defense0.

I find it interesting how no other team had interest in Kerr until the Knicks got Phil. I doubt there is that much interest in him

Also, GSW's players loss that game with the TOs.

Nalod @ 5/4/2014 12:32 PM
Jax is toast. Too much drama around assistants and polarizing preacherman act. His shirt/Tie combo last nite was awful.

We'll have some competition with GS for sure. Nice team but they got holes. Bogut always hurt, O'neil retiring, What happend to Barnes?

Curry is a hell of point and his healed ankles are the difference!

MJax is a good coach but too much baggage surrounding him. Kerr's wife stays behind in San Diego it makes Kerr to NY harder if SF is offered to him. Maybe he'll use it for leverage. Can't blame him, when Jim Dolan is your employer we all know what happens!

smackeddog @ 5/4/2014 1:58 PM
Come in craptors, you're choking! Put these Nets away.

derozan with a horrible charging call. if there was ever a reason to develop a stop on a dime step-back a la steve nash it is this sort of dumb play.
BigDaddyG @ 5/4/2014 3:37 PM
Wow, maybe Joe Johnson isn't overpaid lol Raptors are too inexperienced.
