Knicks · Phil's Wednesday Press conference (page 4)

mreinman @ 4/23/2014 9:40 PM
I am really happy he is here, and while here, he will talk a lot because he likes to, and while talking a lot, he will say things that make you shake your head. And when he says these things, we will have fans and posters reading into and judging every word.

I can live with that.

holfresh @ 4/23/2014 9:56 PM
If Melo walks and he can't attract any free agents, he won't be talking too much..
gunsnewing @ 4/23/2014 10:01 PM
Yea who wants to play in New York City and for Phil Jackson nonetheless
holfresh @ 4/23/2014 10:05 PM
Knick fans all believe players want to play here...Ask LeBron..
mreinman @ 4/23/2014 10:07 PM
Melo fans all believe that stars want to come to NY and play with him.

People believe and assume many things.

holfresh @ 4/23/2014 10:09 PM
Last big Knick free agent signings...H2O, Amare, Melo forced his way here...
dk7th @ 4/23/2014 10:13 PM
i prefer this franchise flush even more than roster flush. it was overdue. too bad the medical staff couldn't have been given the heave-ho. they have sucked so bad. phil getting rid of the stench.
holfresh @ 4/23/2014 10:14 PM
I also thought everyone wanted to play for MDA..
mreinman @ 4/23/2014 10:16 PM
I don't think they wanted to play for MDA, everyone just wanted/wants to play with Amare

instead of hiring Phil maybe we should have hired the suns medical staff, they worked wonders with Grant hill....

holfresh @ 4/23/2014 10:21 PM
Phil just a man, not a superhero...He will try his best and I think he can do a good job..But he needs luck...If we sign Melo, I'm not sure who that second guy will be...I think it's a lock that Love goes to LA...
gunsnewing @ 4/23/2014 10:25 PM
Then you don't sign Melo and draft Batman

he is a man with 13 rings. he isn't a superhero he is a WINNER. unproven as a team-builder? ok, whatever. still he is a winner and i think you should roll with that for a few months. you know why? because winners attract other winners.

if you want proof of that just look at who dolan has attracted over his tenure here. losers, because dolan is a loser.

Papabear Says

You know some people are just azz holes and don't know what the hell they are talking about. Dolan is a billionaire making millions each and everyday.I think that's success and a winner. He dosen't spend all day bloging and complaining. Phil Jackson will never have full control of the Knicks. The only control Jackson will be allowed will be the control Dolan gives him. This won't last 2 years.

Are you having a bad day or something? You're posts have been all unrelenting misery!

Personally, I think it's a good thing if we can't attract the big name, established FA's- we need to start focusing on players on the cusp- guys like Bledsoe, Milsap etc last year- they are more likely to be attracted to NY because they will have been overlooked in their smaller markets, plus they will be cheaper!

how many drafts and first rounders do you think it would take to draft another player as good as Melo?

Draft well in the meantime. Go after a Shaq/Lebron type free agent when you have a roster littered with talent and a boatload of cap space. There are many ways to do this without Melo. Phil Jackson has clout as does New York City. The main thing is that a winning culture is established. Melo is getting old. He has slow feet and plays defense with his hands. He's only getting slower with age. We need high octane and high IQ

This isn't Isiah's Knicks

gunsnewing @ 4/24/2014 7:36 AM
We don't need guys who need to be Woo'd. The Woo'ing is for Jeanie Buss like Phil said

Phil is gonna try to convince but if someone doesn't want to buy in they will be gone. That's something we haven't had in years. A President and all the way down to the last man on the roster who are all on the same page.

unfortunately the little man up at the top of the food chain is still there.

You need to get out of the past. Dolan won't have an impact on what Phil does the 1st 2 years IMO. Dolan already went on record saying Phil can sign Melo or not, so he can't interfere at this point cuz he actually made that direct statement to the press. If Dolan were to renege he will be castigated in the press much as he has with just this small rumor that he was messing around with Phil already. The old Dolan tricks won't work. He no longer has a spy in the coaching staff and that's a victory in itself.

Dolan will keep his spies in place. If not on the coaching staff, on the medical staff. Dolan went on record??? Did you really say that? You honestly think this idiot cares about getting castigated by the press, the same press he treats like mutant rabid retarded vermin?

Old tricks working? When did Jimmie ever cared if they worked? This is an idiot with the ego the size of Phil's ring case. He fires poor security guards for doing their job. If you refuse to learn from the past, you will just repeat it. Phil has not changed Dolan's personality. Yet.

The battle is joined. I am still hopeful things will turn out for the better.

Just heard the most of the press conf again on Mike and Mike.

It's great when Darth Vader comes back to the light, ain't it?
