I am not questioning him at all. I like everything that he has done so far.

Odom?

it's like a non move. This was a waste of a season.

Aren't we changing the culture??

that move affected our culture?

"If it takes me taking a pay cut, I’ll be the first one on Mr. Dolan’s steps saying take my money and let’s build something strong over here.’”

This is what Phil Jax is responding to in his conference on Wednesday. He is not dissing Melo, he is responding to Melo's public statement he made during the all star break in February.

Papabear Says

No matter what Phil should have been a little more diplomatic about it . Phil can keep on running his mouth and piss Melo off and Melo can walk and we get nothing for him. You mean you don't care?? Well if you don't care about getting anything back for Melo you are an azz hole. Wade, Bron, and Bosh can take less money and if Melo goes to Miami I would like to see how long it will take the Zen Master to beat that team. Probably 10 Years if he is lucky and keep his mouth shut.

Why would Melo get in a hissy fit when he said what he said? Cuz Isola said so?

Piss Melo off? You can't negotiate in fear. Besides what would be worse than pissing off the fan base with a cap strapping contract.

No, but some posters are calling out phil for the "Reminder" thinking it would agitate Melo.

I think Phil is making a mistake. If he wants to talk with Melo about taking a paycut, I would keep it behind closed doors. Making public comments to try to shame Melo into taking less money is a bad move. The bottomline, Melo has a right to take as much money as he is worth. Don't try to blame him if you cannot build a team if he gets the max. If Melo takes less money, then that is on Melo and it should be his decision, but I think it is poor taste to try and put the blame on him if he demands a max salary. If the salary cap system does not work, then the owners should change it. But it is the system they wanted and the players should not have to take paycuts unless they want to.

Phil & Melon ironically like each other... trust me
This is from a knick team missing playoffs after making NBA playoffs prior several yrs.
Trust Melo, and trust Phil

Melo said it in February. His words. No shaming. Melo made a public statement before Phil as hired.

Wish he had this attitude BEFORE we traded everything to get him. Yeah that would've been nice!

They are words, not actions.

We'll just have to see............
