Knicks · Is there any options out there where we can get rid of JR and Fatton? (page 1)

NYKBocker @ 5/1/2014 1:33 PM
These are 2 players I want removed from the Knicks. Sadly, I don't think we can send them anywhere.
Vmart @ 5/1/2014 1:35 PM
Jail is one option and the other would be drug suspension.
NardDogNation @ 5/1/2014 2:09 PM
JR, Felton and Kenyon Martin to the Nets for Marcus Thorton. Jason Kidd can vouch for the incoming players and all of them would be decent, non-essential bench players. Meanwhile, we'd get an expirer.
foosballnick @ 5/1/2014 2:13 PM
JR Makes about $6 million and Felton about $4.3. I would like to move Felton but even if he was retained as a back-up it would not be devastating to the team. A motivated JR is a bargain at $6 mil.....and he has proven to be a good 6th man in the past. There are bigger issues clogging up the Knicks roster/cap space. Stat at $23.4.....Tyson at $14.6 and Bargs at $12 mil. These players are the main reason the Knicks have no flexibility next year.....and only Tyson has any trade value.

JR will be OK. Cant rely on his to be the #2 scorer. Thats simply beyond his skill set, but I think if Woody could get a year like his 6th OTY season then the next coaching staff should be able to work with him. I expect Felton to be in jail and his contract voided.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't think having Ray's contract voided helps cap wise one way or the other. Can the Knicks receive any sort of exemption if Ray loses his court case?

It does help them cap wise, just not in 2014.

I believe there is a limited market for JR on a contender, off the bench, with a strong coach who JR knows wont put up with his bad behavior.

I would like him to stay here and have him zenified. There are very few players in the league who possess his talents.

I know. But we need to sign a decent PG now. Worst case scenario has us entering camp with Prigs, Shump and Murry at PG next season. Hopefully we can finagle something in the meantime.

It would work if Phil coached again, guess we will see what happens with Kerr. Maybe Phl standing in the tunnel (if there still was a tunnel) might be enough to at least keep from doing the dumb off the court stuff.

Everyone has to answer to phil.

The reality is we needed JR to the #2 scorer this year and I simply think thats too much to ask. He's not that caliber player. However when he's not feeling obligated to jack 28 threes in a game and he plays hard on both ends he's certainly an impact player. He also plays the same position as Shump and THjr, our two best young players.

Time will tell

Any tanking team would do
knicks1248 @ 5/1/2014 4:43 PM
I actually want to keep JR, at least until THJ is above avg player

Watching the nets last night I was thinking they need to move bropez. Not sure he is right for the knicks, worth the cap space or taking the risk with his injury history but bargs/felton for bropez works straight up. Also, Tyson for bropez works straight up. Tyson could be reunited with Kidd.

I think Tyson is the guy to move. He still has value and he doesn't fit the Triangle at all. I could see a deal like that happening.

bargs is coming off the books after 2014. Why would we take back a longer salbatross?

I was just playing around with trade checker. I do like Lopez if he is healthy. Not sure if nj/bk and the knicks become trade partners but Kidd certainly knows the knicks personnel and might not see Tyson's warts.

Is there a worse starting PG on any team than Felton? I guess you could argue George Hill but he doesn't even really play the point. It's sad that EVERY NBA team has someone at least pretty good at PG and we have him. PG is a pretty loaded position now and we still can't get anyone. SOme teams have 2 PGs better than our starter. sad.
