Knicks · Melo and Woodson in a nutshell... (page 1)

Not sure if this was shared, could have missed it...apologies but worth sharing if it was missed...

I think melo may be a coach killer. I'd like to get something for him. Would like to give 2014 another go same healthy team, but if he must go, he must go...

Silverfuel @ 5/3/2014 11:25 AM
Is this for real? Messed up! Then again, going by the people posting here, they would all have done the same thing when Woodson started talking anyway.
CrushAlot @ 5/3/2014 11:27 AM
Was that the philly game where the starters were pulled and the bench played so poorly that the starters had to back in? I know it was from the end of the year.
TheloniusMonk @ 5/3/2014 11:30 AM
He was clearly annoyed with one of his teammates. When confronted he tells Mike "I'm talkin to him" pointing at a teammate. I see player confrontations all the time. Maybe he felt his teammate's head wasn't in the game. Not sure what anyone is trying to draw from this.

Come on, it's all Melo's fault..

Oh right, he does say that. I didn't catch that the first time. Any idea who that was? Looks like this was a game against the Pacers.

This is so true. He should get injured like Allan Houston after signing a big contract and sit it out until retirement day. Then he will be remembered as one of the greats and get the GM job down the road.

No its vs Indy, Knicks are up 6, 90-83 with 19.3 seconds left. Shows it at the bottom of the screen.

I'm glad it wasn't directed at Woodson. Good news.

It looked like he was pointing at Tyson. Can't say for sure.

Not that big a deal. The man was clearly frustrated and was like "blah, blah, blah...let's win the fucking game, man." Then he proceeded to put up his hand in unison with his teammates. A little rude to Woody but I've seen much worse disrespect.

Heard him say "I was talking to him" also. I think that was just to deflect any on-the-spot confrontation with Woody. Frustration followed by immediate reactionary damage control...If there was one player Melo clearly had a problem with several times during the season, it was Shumpert. Specifically I remember Shump getting pissed off at Melo in that New Orleans game at home where Tyreke Evans ran wild on us...Remember that game? Looked like Melo missed a defensive switch out high down the stretch and we got burned. Shump let him have a little bit...I'm sure there were plenty of other little instances with different players here & there but that incident with Shump was the most pronounced this season from what I remember..

Having said that, part of me agrees with Babyknicks -- I'm not sure he's the best fit to build around anymore. Not sure if he's really championship material. The man needs big-time help around him. Can we get him that along with maxing him out too? I dunno man...Getting something for him and turning the page might be our best move.

I just remember that Jordan didn't understand being part of a winning NBA team either. He was always trying to go solo and then Phil finally got thru to him and he became a better player. Moreover Phil made sure that the REST of the team could function at a high level outside of Jordan. That's what you want. The Knicks didn't have a style of play that had the rest of the team functioning at a high level and so they would end up leaning on Melo too much. Now Phil plans on turning that all around. If Melo stays great. If not you STILL need to have a well functioning team no matter what star player you bring in later. The Bulls are a team just waiting for a star player. They function well for a bunch of role players already. They simply need that star player to get them over the hump.

When you see that melo installs a verbal semi-colon, and interjects falsetto tonal change its clear that he fully wanted Woodson not Fired, was still upset that Grunny was let go, Has regret about Mardy Collins, thinks about the ball massage he got from Bernie Fine in College, and does not like La La's new base makeup!!!!!

Tastes like Honey nut!

mreinman @ 5/4/2014 4:01 PM
I am still having nightmares about Woody's PnR defense.

or he could make one of the biggest shots in knicks history, help the knicks get to the finals in one of the most exciting finals runs in decades. Be a true professional, a great teamate, then get hurt, can't play, get a job in the front office and be remembered as a really good knick player..

unfortunately carmelo doesn't have the balls, leadership ability, or brains to accomplish any of those things, except getting hurt..

Allan Houst was no leader, never was, and never has been.
