Who the heck is Dusty Pedo??

At some time a player has to know when to go and if you don't, well they gonna tell you. Bernie was ineffective and was willing to come back, but he was pretty much finished. Posada got paid very well, maybe over compensated for his last year. If you want the nice good bye, then know when to say when.
Im ok with Yanks not resigning Cano. Im sure he'll be great for a few years but its a long ass conract and his money was well spend in other areas. We proved we can not contend with him and I doubt this team will hold up a full season.
Actually the division is pretty strong top to bottom. It won't be easy.
Gotta build thru the minors to be great.
And also, it was George who played hard ball with Bernie's contract.. until he just gave in and told bernie to come home and gave him a deal he was happy with..
not sure where all of this mistreatment talk comes from.. the yankees did very well by those guys giving them remarkable deals... Lets be clear.. Jeters last deal was great for this point in his career.. it was sort of a lifetime yankee achievement deal.. not really based on his production at the time.. 4 years at 60 mil was not bad, especially coming off a damn near 200 mil deal.. and the last deal he had was a one year 12 mil deal, his final deal for this year which was 2.5 mil higher than the player option he could have picked up..
Tino Martinez and Paul O'Neill to get plaques in monument park..I really want to know what Bernie did??

me too..
maybe bernie will get his # retired? getting plaques isn't the same as getting their # retired.
“The ceremonies are part of a recognition series that will include Bernie Williams in 2015.”
Those guys deserves plaques. Bernie deserves to get his number retired and be considered in a core 5 of remove one of them if rhyming is so important
Mike Francessa said a few days ago the 3 most important Yankees during the run was Rivera, Jeter, and Bernie...
Definitely agree that Bernie deserves a little more respect than he's been shown. I understand that the 'core 4' really has a lot to do with them all coming up around the same time (Bernie hit the scene a few years before) but the bottom line is that Bernie deserves just as much respect within the organization as any of those guys, hands down. I'd love for them to show him that.
Both the mets and Yankees at 19-19
Yankees payroll $197mil
Mets payroll $87mil
Yankees spent half a billion in the offseason

That's right, and we're missing our ace pitcher! Granderson seems to have really come alive against his old team, probably likes hitting in yankee stadium.
Yankees wouldnt pay a ano but spent $500m on a bunch of dinosaurs
yankees gm is like no other gm position in all of sports. too many external factors for making moves.
at this point in time, they need a shakeup which includes getting rid of cashman and girardi.
the team, as presently constituted and with the same braintrust is going to be around a 81-90 win team over the next bunch of years.
And they just re-signed girardi for another 4 stupid years after missing the playoffs a 2nd time
The Yankees don't miss the playoffs last year if George was alive. Also Girardi and maybe Cashman would be along gone. The young Steinbrenners do not know what it takes to run the New York Yankees

George wins another Cy Young!!
