he's not a great player.
back up your assertion with facts... otherwise it's bloviating.
your face is bloviating!
melo is one of the greatest nba players in history if you break it down by the numbers, guy!
he's a natural scorer and would rank in the nba's greatest 50 players if he played in the 90s, like Ewing

We The People should realize that if Melo makes just one dope sick run to the ECF or FINALS, and they put up a fight or win it, then he's legend and everything you will cite against him will be waters under the troll bridge

"if he played in the 90s" if he played in the 90s he'd be a poor man's glenn robinson.
show me the numbers, then. otherwise it's... bloviating.

i ain't got the numbers, man!
all i know is he drops the buckets at a crazy clip, he's so dope it's ridiculous even you have to admit that
they guy us becoming a bit of a min-lebron, aka a beast...in terms of his skill, size, strength and athleticism as a guard (vs lebron as a forward).
i'd take him immediately, and play him with an intelligent guard who can distribute and shoot better, but does not need to score...
actually the dream backcourt...
imagine he and steph curry as your guards. that would be ridunkulous.
idk aboutmini lebron, remember when people were calling shumpert a mini jordan?
it's risky to go that far

shump is in no way comparable, even if given such a title by someone since he was never really that good offensively, and he isn't as sick of a lockdown defender as he was a few years back.
i mean that westbrook is sort of a mini-lebron in the categories i listed. and how he is such a difficult matchup. rose was like that too, but westbrook is bigger and stronger than rose, seems to cause more havoc on defense, and seems to thrive in the open court even more so.
westbrook's strengths allow him to take over games and dominate his opponents with the same attributes lebron uses to his advantage.
bottom line...he's coming into his own, silencing his critics i think, and arguably outperforming the mvp, who gets far more love from a lot of the fanbase who seem to romanticize kd as some kind of kid still playing ncaa hoops. he's a great player, yes, but lebron is obviously better and i don't even see the argument otherwise.

there was time when shump was so nasty that everyone here thought he would develop into a mini-jordan/star possible all-star,
then he fell off

westbrook is a level above now, absolutely, and he is a near-superstar

I thought he would be a 17-5-5 player, I know better than to expect that from Chump now.
Westbrook is a horrible PG
Six steals tonight. Such a talent.

ginobili chokes the second free throw-- you rarely see that from such a clutch player.

pg should never take 24 shots unless he's on fire, not shooting 40%

If you give weight to the +/- stat, Westbrook was +11. His teammates were all in the negative. Also, getting 18 free throws in a game is pretty impressive.
The dude took and missed 5 of the dumbest shots I've ever seen, in OT; all of them consecutive. On top of that, the guy had 7 turnovers in the game. That epitomizes the problem that is Russell Westbrook and is why I'd never want him on my team. The guy is the ultimate fool's gold and OKC would be wise to dump him ASAP.
When there is finally a "pg" in the finals that is important let me know until then Westbrook is one of the better options. He may be wild on offense but at least he competes on D.
