Probably in minority consensus
Though king LBJ greatness shown again
in wake of 3rd straight nba title,

I thinks the NYK Ewing/Xavier McD, Oakley,Starks
team in a time machine..would stand great
chance to Beat this HEAT 2013/2014 team. Even the Charles
Smith 'bl_own' layup team BUT X'man team to me was better.
Why? you ask? Well although Ewing is/was NO LBJ as far as best player on court star Ewing was 100x better than Hibbert &NY Knicks team was a good defensively as HEAT even better Team defense, unsure of man-to-man D Heat may won that stat. Honestly believe you gotta beat HEAT same way they beat you, aall heat non-stars get involved with outcome. I think the X-man McDaniel teams would make Ray Allens, Battier & Bosh non factors. Sure Lebron would win 2-3 games but LBJ unselfish play wouldnt work against those Knicks teams.
*solely an opinion, cause I think Heat was better 1-2 years ago than this Heat team.

Since Heat are constructed to todays game you have to consider todays zone defense and rules. They negate the power of Oak and the low post of ewing.

Hate to say it, but it would be ugly unless a brawl ensued! Then it be great!!!

Heat are just too quick for that team.

On the other hand, 6-8 260 Lebron could inflict some will on his own. With no zone he'd be impossible to contain. If they double him he finds the open man.

If for no other reason at all, the current heat beat the 90s Knicks because we are talking a 20+ year difference. Today's guys are better athletes and better players. Just like as good as the early 70s Knicks were, they weren't better than the 90s teams. Better developed athletes and skills. Many of the previous decades stars would translate fine, but there are obviously many more great athletes in the league today.

With no zone defenses to throw at Lebron he'd be mighty hard to contain.

It's an interesting thought experiment to do but in the end it's most assuredly impossible to state definitively that the 90's Knicks would beat the current Heat squad at their respective apex.

I can definitively say that that knicks team would be demolished but the Heat I may be in the minority but I think that the Heat beat the bulls too.

Boy would I love to see Lebron dee up against Jordan.

I know that MJ is considered the greatest of all time but Lebron is doing things that even surpass his airness.

He can guard every position, he is a better passer, and he is the more efficient shooter. They both are all world defenders and Jordan gets the edge on clutch shooting but Lebron has become a money 4th quarter player.

If Lebron wins this year then I think he officially gets into the conversation.

I also think that the competition is a bit stiffer now.

Can you imagine? Some of this era same Heat teams getting out a NBA round vs Bad boys Detroit Pistons?

If you played by older rules, the Heat would not be constructed as they are to compete. Which Wade do you have? The broken one or the one from a few years ago? Do you have todays team, or last years with Miller?

What about foul trouble? What about Mase or starks getting teched up after fouls? Who guards lebron?

If you have X-man, you don't have Mase.

NBA watered down or has parity taken hold?

Detroit might be too slow to play with the Heat. There are always great players who can hang in any generation. Isiah yes, Dumars less so. Lambieer not so. Mahorn too slow. The microwave? Rodman would do well today.

Speaking of the 90's Knicks i must say that i really appeciate how good thse tams were despite not winning a ring. speiall since the past 1 years have been dreadful for Knicks fans and probably wont get better anytime soon

Nobody could guard Jordan. Jordan was 6-6 and about 200lbs while Lebron is 6-8 260.

Jordan had Pippen to guard the opponents best player. It was smart. Jordan was a great defender btw!! Pip was a great wingman!

Starks mental breakdowns left him vulnerable. The untimely Tech, the erratic shooting. I loved the guy lets not forget the whole picture.

Jordan killed the knicks, Why would Lebron do any worse? Jordans edge was he was a sociopath. Lebron has stopped clowning and far more focused the last few years.

I respect LBJ's game, but the rules favor him by far, and jordan is a far better jump shooter then LBJ. The knicks were a top 3 defensive team, suffocating at times.

From and Individual stand point LBJ can hold his own in any era of the NBA, but I'm not so sure about the rest of his mates. Bosh just recently said he shys away from physical contact, doesn't like it at all.

The fouls they gave back then would get players T'D up or suspended now a days. The Heat are a finese team, the knicks were just the opposite.

Good take. Google some Jordan vs. Lebron stuff and its amazing how close they both are. Jordan has the bling and while thats huge its apparent they are products of their teams as well.

Heat are built for this era and the knicks for theirs. Heat are enroute to 4 straight finals, Knicks went to one.

Question is really are the Bulls of that era better than the Heat? I think the Second incarnation of the "three peat" was so with Rodman, harper, Kerr, and Kukoc. The difference with them was their depth. The 72 win team in the pre hard cap era allowed for greater depth of roster. They did not have the bruisers and they used a more Euro center format with Longley and Purdue. Guys with good midrange shots! By then the hand check rules were in and Jordan went to the line all the time.

Jordan became a better jump shot shooter as he went to the rim less. Lebron is also evoloving in a similar way. Jordan had many tools but never the power Lebron has.

I never recall seeing MJ flopping. That given the big question is do the Jordan Rules apply to Lebron? I would think he is obviously going to get the calls MJ did.

The Heat have almost the same pieces:
Pippen - Wade (the Robin role)
Rodman - Birdman
Ray Allen - Any Bull outside shooter
Bosh - Kukoj

I don't see how any Knicks team from the recent past overcomes the current Lebron, even without the Heat bench being full of the large bodies the Bulls had.

Would the Knick chip squads have had a chance?

mental nalod.. Jordan already been through the pistons, mahorn and ruland, and became mentally tough to the physical play, it only made him play better.. Lebron doesn't... when fouled hard this dude goes complaining to the media.. another thing is the killer instict.. Jordan had that in spades...His level of competitiveness was unmatched.. not sure I can say that about lebron..
