Melo, Felton & Bargs for Linn, Osik, Scola & Parsons & draft picks.
Interesting. Wouldn't be opposed to Lin coming back except we would have to deal with an onslaught of slavishly devotional fans who will flood this board and freak out over the slightest criticism of his game.

He does have a rabid fan base. I would take him back too. It would still be ridiculous considering we could have had him for free although we get less of his growing pains!

Good point about the growing pains. At least he would be a more mature player now, as far as his game goes.

and then package Parsons and Shump (because they are due to get paid) for more picks or guys in rookie contracts and sign 3 max guys at the end of the year.. or 2 and a Tyson type. It would be really interesting to see how a Phil engineered deal would look and if Dolan lets his cash cow go
If Melo is traded I bet Iman is included too. Just a hunch.
Also, Why would Morey want Melo?
Id much rather have
Boozer picks 14 16 and 49.
Here is why. I have free agency in 2015--I can pick my players. I don't feel we'll be a player for chip next year although we can be real good with some proper moves at PG.
Look at our frontline Boozer Amare Tyson(unless there is a deal worthy of doing) Bargs maybe Aldrich--whatever way you want to look at that--that frontline is very good. Upgrade at PG--whether offering Collison the wheels if he takes less Patty Mills on the side --IDK but there are options.
Then we have picks 14-16 and 49 to go along with THJ Shumpert and maybe Toure Murry. In the next year we hand pick 4-5 players from the draft--a couple of minor free agencies and bang we have a core set for major players to come in 2015 with $$$$ controlled cap. This is important--its importnat to manage the cap.
If this is an avenue--this is what I would do.
Is Beverly on the table as well? I'll throw in Shump if they toss us Beverly. Asik, Parsons, Terrence Jones, Lin, Montiejunas, 2014 and 2015 first roundersin this year's draft and a 2014 second rounder.
the video states that Love and Irving( if he doesn't extend) would be other options, and If I am morey and irving is an option, that would be a no brainer...
Houston needs defense tho, and love and carmelo don't solve that problem... none of these moves outside of irving and somewhat love doesn't seem like morey moves...

is irving a two-way player?

Why wouldn't he?

Wayching Irving & Harden would be like watching a new age Zeke & Dumars, without the defense, toughness and fiery competitiveness.
Why would any team trade their star to bail Houston out of two bad contracts in their worst years?
holfresh wrote:Why would any team trade their star to bail Houston out of two bad contracts in their worst years?
Because they are expiring contracts and if packaged with picks / players, we would still have 2015 cap space.

So basically trading Melo for picks?..Phil is 70 years old, he ain't rebuilding...do yourself a favor, look up historical draft picks beyond the 8th pick...

in between. I think he gives effort, just not that good at it defensively yet.. but when it comes to kevin love and carmelo anthony, all you have to do is give some sort of effort to surpass them defensively..
I would not be surprised to see the rockets go in a different direction...Honestly luol deng would be an ideal fit for that team...
Are people still claiming Melo doesn't play D? Yawn.
Why wouldn't he you ask, mr., because Morey is Mr. Analytics, surely he has no use for Melo.

Luol Deng? Really? He would be sitting on the bench like ROnnie Brewer was. The man can't shoot and you do not put him in over Parsons.

No he certainly is not a great defensive player. Does he have the tools? Sure. His offense also regressed last season, undoubtedly though he has massive talent and potential.
What I don't get is the potential Irving/Harden backcourt. How would that work?
