just to go back..some of you guys are quick to write england off. interesting...are you irish or scottish? :)

okay, costa rica looked good against uruguay, especially joel campbell who really impressed me, but they are not anywhere near as good as england talent wise.

england have more pressure to win, yes, but they should win that game. losing to italy is not so bad, and did you all watch england play? they did pretty well i thought...in fact maybe their best performance in a world cup since i can remember watching.

the england-uruguay match...which is both teams' next...is the likely big decider of who goes through.

suarez will return, which is huge, but england may only need to draw, and then beat costa rica to maybe get in.

problem for england is if italy are already going to be in first they may tank the last game against uruguay.

if that's what happens, and assuming england beats costa rica then it will come down to goal difference.

England did play well, I agree. But, let's face it, they're a a pretty limited bunch of players. I think Uruguay will have too much for them, and the Costa Rica game will be more or less irrelevant for England.

Portugal is terrible. USA has a chance just beat Gana

No dude, Portugal is doing ok. Germany is just that good. Pepe with a terrible lapse in judgement. Now Portugal is one man down.

You can tell how they are declining their ball controll style for quick counter soccer due to the tough weather conditions!
Interesting to see them play that way... good coaching so far!!!

Wow! 3-0! Unstoppable. I hadn't realized Podolski and Klose are going to be coming in. These guys are scary good.

I would guess they will come in later.
The temperature is crazy there and Müller is givig a great effort so he will be done after an hour i guess!
Having subs like Klose, Podolski and also Schürrle from Chelsea is great for Germany under these conditions!

Taking this back, Portugal is looking worse in the second half. They are pointing fingers at each other, lot of misunderstanding and lack of harmony. We should be able to make it out of this round.

They were playing well until the penalty kick which was IMO a marginal call but then again I'm portuguese . After that I knew it was over. Ronaldo is also injured and not 100%. Eh, whatever. This Germany team is a wrecking back though, that's true.

And LOL of course no penalty when Eder gets his ankle raked in front of the goal.

Yeah it's not even like it would've mattered since this game has been over since the red card but Germany gets a BS penalty kick and Portugal gets denied the obvious one. It's just annoying more than anything.

to me both were penalties! Götze deserved it but that was a clear foul on Eder as well!

Clearly, Germany is the better team.

USA has a good chance now as Portugal has lost 2-3 starters. They must take care of business today.

This has been a great World Cup so far.
