New Nets practice center is very NY!!!!

Gotta say, if anyone wants to live in NYC Nets are doing this right.

Only problem is they don't play in the Garden!!!

i love how the nets think it matters that they have a training center in the city... who cares? at some point they have to get over that whole little brother shit.

man what a lowbrow thing to say. to have a full-blown facility right in brooklyn makes it that much more attractive a lifestyle for anyone interested in living near where they work. imagine being able to practice and play in the same area. and it means you probably want to move to brooklyn. your presence lends even more cachet and glamour to what has become the brand name of nyc boroughs. and you can live large in any neighborhood you choose.

this is a fantastically cool situation for a pro player.

where you from?

Nice view from Brooklyn, sweet. They're smart to make use of the view. You'd be surprised how amenities like these can play a part in a decision to come to a team.

it's true brooklyn nets are doing it right. impressive. dolan needs to put some money into getting a similar situation with the knicks. if he were a better owner he would have done the same thing for the knicks ages ago. dude is stupid and stingy. thank goodness he is going to stay out of the way!

I get the Westchester facility 20 years ago. Knicks were early to have upscale own facility and not share it at a college or elsewhere. And they will have the the D team in the house.

Now, the prestige is teams have practice in the arena, or elsewhere. No doubt mansion in westchester is very cool, but also cool is to live in Manhatten.

The garden is still top place.

Practice facility is becoming an amenity to teams to help recruit. They want players staying working on their games. This one is on the East River. Not bad!!!!

That is pretty nice, and players tend to live where they practice and train, which is why a lot of the guys from back in the day lived in Westchester. It takes the glamor away from playing in NYC, because it's really not convenient to live here, unless you're Amare.

Remember, he was bitching about the two hour drive to practice with his bad back a couple of years ago? I never understood, with all the real estate that changes hands in Manhattan, why the Knicks training headquarters would be in Westchester, near Yonkers lol.

Haha, me too!

I used to live down that way in Sunset Park. Pretty cool (speaking as a resident). Little brother is in the biggest borough by population and I haven't seen "New York" or "Manhattan" hit any of the top baby names lists. ;)
