Also for our first pick, Spencer Dwinwiddie would have been a great fit even though he is still recovering from his ACL injury If you watch him play, he doesn't rely on physical abilities but has a great shooting stroke, leadership, DEF, high IQ, confidence, and SIZE to defend 1-3 positions similar to Jarret Jack when he fills his body out
Also would have liked to get Dwight Powell as well somehow to go with Backnaski In any case, I would like to get some of these guys contracts and lock them in right now, focusing on development, cutting ties with Pablo etc...
Yeah, I'm not too concerned with this pick. There are only so many spots on the roster and stash makes sense. Delon Wright didn't enter this year. The good news is that there are a decent amount of rookie free agents. We could probably convince Bachynski or Patric Young to play for based on our lack of centers. He has a roster spot if he outplays Cole or Tyler.

I agree, it isn't that BIG of a deal considering we still have lots of talents to choose from that went undrafted However, Nets did a great jobs with those picks, I think they did a better job than us because they got better value players with NO DRAFT picks/real trades

Really? They drafted two combo guards. At least of those, maybe both if Livingston is resigned are gone. I wasn't really impressed with those picks. Corey Jefferson has potential tho. It would have been nice to grab him or Khem Birch, but we're talking end of the bench guys anyway.

...I'm liking what I see from this dude. They say his left hand is weak but in this video, he seemed pretty comfortable with it. Just in those 2 minutes alone, he finished 6 plays with his left (three baby hooks, one layup and two putbacks), while looking pretty fluid. He seems to have good instincts with the ball and in covering the ball...give him another 2-3 years in Europe to bulk up and I think we might have a guy that is an actual NBA player.

Know little to nothing about him. Going purely by the scant video footage- the one you posted is the best I have seen. Saw one terrible one where the competition seemed very poor.
DraftExpress had the comment about his newly found jumper. You could also see improvement in his FT% over the period of time covered. If the shooting form is there much, I am never concerned about inconsistency with a younger player. I also look at FT% as important, especially if it is improving.
Not a ton of info on the guy. Hopefully a late bloomer. At 22 he is not considered "young" for a prospect, but maybe he develops in a couple of years.
Have the Knicks even spoken about him or discussed why they took him? Would have been nice to at least look at him play in the Summer League.
There is a video with a lot of blocks and short range shooting from 2012- quite in contrast to the one you put up as far as the jumpers. The scouting comments are unbiased, and indicate that the person discussing him has seen him as he developed. Sounds like he really needs to get more minutes in, wherever he ends up playing this season. If he is not getting a lot of minutes, you wonder if he will ever develop like he should.

Let's be real what are the realistic odds of a late 2nd round pick having a successful long term career in the NBA. Forget who the nets drafted and just think about the raw odds. I can't imagine it's higher than 10%-15%

This was a three pick miss. I have no clue with jefferson went 60 but Id rather have him than anyone we picked--we need him more. He does all of the things you would want from a PF and was the most athletic F in the draft. This was an enigma. Id rather have him on the roster than a guy sitting in Europe who may never come here who is not ready.

It may just be an asset to move in a trade like the euro that the lakers sent to the rockets. I believe that guy was drafted in 08 and has been traded several times. He is never coming to the nba but his rights can be moved.

I know you're a guy who likes to look for cheap stock in companies that you think have a high upside. I can only think that Phil or our overseas people took a good look at the French kid and feel he has a high ceiling.
Due diligence done in terms of scouting Jefferson- have to trust what they thought he could do in our system of play.
Not sure I would get into a real argument for either player- I think there are good points to be made on each side- we just have to think (hope) that Phil had an idea about what he was doing.

Talking about almost the last pick the draft and we already have a full roster. A Euro-stash likely the most prudent move anyway.
