That lineup is built for running, with Melo at PF slot. The team needs to add defensive toughness, especially if Calderon is a starter. A lot of running and gunning leading to another first round exit.
Carmelo is no longer a knick, why can't we discuss the lineups without that dude... it is so hard for some of you guys to move forward.. have you even taken a look to see how many threads there are about carmelo?
I think it would be good to have one thread, all things carmelo and call it a day... jeez

What about Shump, Tyler, Prigs, Murry, Ante, Brown, Ellington, & Odom?
CALERON / PRIGS / LARKIN
SHUMP / JR SMITH / THJr
MELO / ELLENGTON
STAT / ODOM / EARLY
BARGS / DALEMBERT / ADRICH / TYLER
That is 15 already ! What position/player do target we add with a mid level free agent ?
Looks like we need package a few players.

JR Smith Shumpert and Prigs need to be removed.(That is 12-13mm in 2015) That is why I wish we drafted Burton or Jefferson #57 since we couldve used a salary controlled 3rd PG or PF for 600k

Oh stop it! You are one of the main ones talking about Mele in almost every post. I hope he comes back just to blow your mind and hear about you crying for joy that Melo is back. And with Melo off that roster it's gonna be a long long season.
I want Melo back. Melo can help this roster. I think Phil and Melo must sit down and have a real and honest talk.

I think they have, but Phil can't truly promise Melo anything. I doubt Melo is gonna wait around for another year or 2 for just some maybe's. There's too much greater opportunity out there RIGHT NOW. I still see him landing in Miami...ugh

In all seriousness, I would just Bargs, he is like the thinner curse given form...just with losing.
But nobody knows how fisher/phil feels about priggy, & bargs being on the team or about Stat and JR as players. I could see any or all of these being moved or cut.
I wonder how fisher feels about Melo at the 4, he spent the last few seasons on a team that went from really good to Stupid good when they would move Durant to the four and play with two or three guards.
I will put this here rather then make a thread.
We should look to steal Andre Blatche away from Brooklyn. He is young, cheap and I think his skill set works with the Triangle though i'm no expert.

Well that is some bad defense we're looking at. Also, I thought Cole was an unrestricted FA?

He is but I doubt he would get more than what the Knicks can offer him, which is more than the vet min.
I doubt the roster is anywhere close to set regardless of Melo.

If that happens then Phil better have a fantastic plan because I don't see us coming out of the east until Lebron retires and Phil Jackson will be already gone. Lets not fool ourselves. A deal with Melo going to Miami will not be good for us.
If you ask me the knicks could use a small forward to play some defense at 3/4 and hit some open shots. I wonder if Shump or THJR could get that player.

tkf--Im with you and many others that we initially paid too much for Melo that it hamstrung us as a team. That being said--why do you think all of these high caliber clubs are chomping at the bit to get Melo? This is what these guys do for a living and they are likely way smarter than me or you or anyone else who posts here about basketball. Melo is a great player but ANY player needs efficient parts to go around him. Id rather HAVE Melo on the team if he would like to stay in a way that we can have other parts that make it work.

because Melo is a great #2 or 3 man on a team with better players in place. As a franchise player making $20 to 25 mil per, it's a disaster though.
Murry has to be given his QO by Monday if the Knicks are resigning him.
