As the phrase goes there is no blueprint to winning a championship. But there is also a reason why the Dallas Mavericks have won around 50 games in the tough West for the last what 12yrs with about like 4 different cores. That's not dominoes randomly falling over, that's flexibility that eventually lead to a magical run.

I'm just trying to express my opinion on the difference between direct causal relationships and dominoes falling over randomly. I mean, Cuban's about as close to a rich genius blabbermouth as there exists, but Jason Terry 6 years later and Jason Kidd on his last legs?

As the phrase goes there is no blueprint to winning a championship. But there is also a reason why the Dallas Mavericks have won around 50 games in the tough West for the last what 12yrs with about like 4 different cores. That's not dominoes randomly falling over, that's flexibility that eventually lead to a magical run.

it comes down to winning, and that in a nutshell is why I want Melo back, poor playoff performances or not. Because when your winning games the players and their stats on your roster mean more. Everyone has more value. Winning is so important. I think its critical to show that last year was a one-off and we are much closer to the 54 win team than the 37 win team. Phil has some more work to do...

really, I mean I am having to read that over again to see how any of that makes sense.... Bring a player back, even if he has been a poor playoff performer because winning games makes everyone more valuable.... well how about winning playoff games?

Dirk is sitting in Dallas with no contract.. he could have easily asked for a contract and taken a pay cut.. but no, dirk one upped that... he said go out and get the players you feel we need to win if you can, and then come back and take care of me...
Instead carmelo is flying from team to team.. LOL.. who is pining for who?

I would say that and sticking with Dirk. When the fans called him Irk because there was no D Cuban stuck with him. When Dirk's Mavs were the #1 seed and they got bounced in the first round they stuck with him. Your right though... stay flexible, stay winning, keep your one blue chip guy. You have to look at Dirk differently since he's got a chip. He deserves all his kudos

Horry was a unique player 6'10 player that can guard 3-5 and knock down 3s. He was the perfect compliment to dominant post presence(Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan).

I hope when it does resolve, the board can move on and talk about the team as-is, and moving forward, not the battle divided by the support of or extreme hate towards Melo. I mean seriously, do you and TKF really enjoy these arguments that turn nearly personal every time, when you know where every individual stands, and vice-versa? I hope if he stays, you can move forward or decide you can't handle a team with Melo as the lead player and no longer exert the effort, or if he leaves, not defend one another with all the "i told you so's." Hopefully it will all be over soon, because this is every single thread on this board. As a longest-time poster, it has really ruined things around here. People rooting against the Knicks to prove a point, or downplaying any success. No one here even did that during the Layden era and Isiah era for the most part. And It goes both ways too. Hopefully the minute this is over everyone can move on how they see fit.
