Kobe Bryant signed a two-year, $48.5 million contract extension last season, three weeks before he suffered a fractured left kneecap.

The contract, which the Los Angeles Lakers and Bryant signed by design to recognize Bryant's value, makes Bryant nearly impossible to trade even if the frachise tried.

“Zero. Look at that number. Who takes him?" one NBA GM said when asked about Bryant's value on the market.

Bryant’s plan is to retire in two years, though he says he reserves the right to change his mind.

I wonder who the ghost GM is

The Lakers would never trade him

However the Kobe Max, there is nothing attractive about it

Him and Blatche- talents who's attitudes are keeping teams away. I'm surprised that a team with a good culture isn't taking a chance on one of them.

Clips have just traded Jared Dudley and a first rounder to the Bucks for Delfino, Raduljica (never heard of him)- yikes for the clippers! Can't believe how much Dudley dropped off in one season. And Delfino is expected to miss the whole season too! Don't get this for the Clips at all- they were already lacking in SFs, now they are even weaker in that area

Have to plead ignorant here, has Dudley really dropped off that much that they need to include a 1st to unload him? We were close to trading Shump for him...

That's what I'm wondering too- I know he had a poor season, but there was every chance he'd bounce back- it just doesn't make sense.

I thought Delfino was coming back. Didn't realize he is still hurt.

They were considering waiving the injured Delfino via the stretch provision, which would allow them to spread his $3.25-million salary over three seasons and give the team additional resources to sign other players, according to one league executive who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not publicly authorized to disclose the team's plans.

If Delfino is healthy I think he would be a great pickup. Also, if Thabeet is waived is he worth a look?

The Sixers acquired center Hasheem Thabeet and cash from the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday for a protected 2015 second-round pick and a trade exception.

ESPN.com reported that the Sixers would waive Thabeet, and an NBA source confirmed that was expected to happen. Thabeet has a $1.25 million nonguaranteed contract.

The source also said the second-round pick is so heavily protected that the Sixers will likely never have to surrender it. Essentially, Oklahoma City paid the Sixers for the trade exception. The Thunder have one year to use the trade exception.

Maybe the Cavs will go after Thabeet if he is waived- they are desperate for a centre.

Thabeet at this stage probably is no better than Tyler

Pretty sad when you think about it

I see Octagon with Thabeet

No Thanks

We have Amar'e, Bargs, Dalambert, Jason Smith & Acy for PF/C. We only have Melo, Early and Outlaw at SF, so no I don't see us reducing SF depth (as much as I don't like Outlaw) to add another PF/C.

Really don't get what the Clips were doing- they gave up a first rounder and their SF (who could have had a bounce back year) for two players they cut.

As much as I think Stat will be healthier than he has been in a few years I'd still like insurance for him and Bargs.
