Cole Aldrich is the first name listed on the roster for all of you guys out there who are afraid we won't be able to afford him. No Lamar Odom tho. Why are we wasting a roster spot on Shannon Brown.
Knixkik @ 7/3/2014 2:54 PM
I would start Aldrich, Tyler, early, hardaway jr, and Larkin. Should be a very fun team to watch. The most exciting team ny has put out there in years.

Yeah, that team is solid.

Why would odom??? His spot on the team has nothing to do with seeing what skills he has, it's more about can he get in good enough basketball shape. He can do that anywhere.......

tkf @ 7/3/2014 3:06 PM
COLE Aldrich was actually a highly rated lottery talent.. not sure what happened to him. hopefully he is just a late bloomer.. big body, decent game in college. we sure could use his size in the middle..
MaTT4281 @ 7/3/2014 3:09 PM
Assuming Knicks bring back Aldrich, that's potentially 7 guys from the summer league that could be on the big league team. Definitely will need to catch some SL this year.
gunsnewing @ 7/3/2014 3:09 PM
This should be great. Get those key pieces accustomed to the triangle with the likes of Shannon brown, Derek fisher and Kurt Rambis

Because it beats the crap out of Chris Smith?

Wow ... Jordan Vandenburg... this may be the exception to the rule about not having to coach height...

Yeah, but at the same time we added Shannon Brown, who we've all seen play on the NBA level last year. We all know what Brown can do. Just give him an invite to camp. Odom is a mystery and it's been a year since he's played organized ball. It's kind of impossible to say what NBA level skills he has at this point. I'm not saying Odom should be forced on the team. But it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to volunteer.

I might be wrong but I thought it was reported that Odom would play on the summer league as part of his conditioning to get ready for an nba season. Not sure what is going on with Odom at this point. Also, I agree about Brown. Not sure why he is on the roster at this point in his career.
VDesai @ 7/3/2014 3:53 PM
Looks like the report of us not keeping Aldrich was bunk. Good.
VDesai @ 7/3/2014 3:57 PM
Whomever made the point about Shannon Brown being there to help implement the triangle is spot on. Same reason why I thought Odom would be there. Might help these young dudes get up to speed on the offense a bit. Hopefully Brown won't play too much because he doesn't have a lot he can show us at this point. I am surprised Odom is not there since he's been out of the league for a while and needs to get back in playing condition.

Too bad the French kid didn't come over to play.

VDesai @ 7/3/2014 3:58 PM
Also what happened to CJ Leslie?
BigRedDog @ 7/3/2014 3:58 PM
Fisher is going to coach the summer league team. Good move

Agree. Looking forward to the summer league much more than in recent years. Hoping Shannon Brown is on the roster only as a favor by Uncle Phil so that Brown will get a look to try and catch on with another team.

Traded him away (or at least our d league team did)- gave up on him very very quickly, so I guess there were issues there.

I'm looking forward to watching this summer league team for a change- we've had some real stinkers the past few years, but this year is stacked with players I want to see play.

I didn't notice Brown was going, don't see the point in that either. But I'm not saying Odom will make nor do I trust him, but he is here because he is solid with Phil, so being on the summer league roster or not is going to bare too much in Phil's decision.

And who knows, he may not be on the roster but that doesn't mean he can't still be involved in practice at summer league. I think I remember nate doing that a couple of years with us.

LOL, yeah, I totally forgot about CJ...He would be pretty versatile in the triangle if he had worked out.

knicks1248 @ 7/3/2014 4:24 PM
I think odom needs 3 months just to get in baskball shape. I think will see him in training camp as oppose to summer league, he just started working out a few weeks ago.

I wonder if derrick rose will play on the bulls summer league?

NYKBocker @ 7/3/2014 5:09 PM
Troy Daniels was released by Houston. If we didn't have so many guards right he would be a sharp shooter we can really use.
