Knicks · Shumpert 2018 pick top 10 protected (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 7/4/2014 11:29 AM
And whatever else is needed in terms of contract S T to Lakers forGasol 3 years 27mm
Allanfan20 @ 7/4/2014 11:33 AM
Really Briggs? You're willing to give up those assets for a guy who sometimes looks ready to retire?
Papabear @ 7/4/2014 11:33 AM
Papabear Says

I would do the deal the other way. Top 10 unprotected and the rest of the draft picks protected.

CrushAlot @ 7/4/2014 11:34 AM
Can the Knicks do that

Gasol has been on decline for years- no thanks! Enough of trading first rounders for short term fixes.

His stats per minute have been stable since the beginning of his career he is an all star level c/pf

Have you honestly watched him lately though? He'll play 2 years max before completely dropping off.

Hard to judge him playing for the stache

Yeah, I don't want to give him a 3 year deal at all, let alone give up assets in the process.

I'm glad you said that since you are an advanced stats guy. I asked Bonn this exact question on how much value do his advanced stats weigh under circumstance. He clearly played his best under the triangle and openly complained about playing in MDA's system which he hasn't looked his best.

Bonn stated his knees look done. But at the same time MDA's style is very taxing on the body.

It's not like players have a history of statistical drop-offs playing for MDA. It's usually the opposite actually.

I was just basing that on reports during the season that he had tendinitis in both knees. I don't really know anything about his health status.

If we are going to offer that then Monroe would be a better target. Also no more trading draft picks.

Its an understandable concern, I wasn't knocking you

Please, just stop with the trading of first round picks. Not anymore.

Yeah, I didn't take it as criticism. I just didn't want you to think I had detailed info.

How many half court low post players have MDA used before?

Joe Johnson? Shaq?
djsunyc @ 7/4/2014 2:05 PM
this would be a very shortsighted move.
tj23 @ 7/4/2014 2:20 PM
Reports are were still over the tax line. So how could we do this if we even wanted to?
