Then I'd like to see these guys on minimum contracts: Some combination of Devin Ebanks/DeQuan Jones/Terrence Williams on the wing; C Daniel Orton and PF Richard Howell.

Purge all the older guys from this roster once we get to the point where we realize they can't help us in a trade for something substantial -- Prigioni, Odom, etc. I'd even let Jeremy Tyler go -- I'd rather have that roster spot for a better/more promising frontcourt player: Orton, Ebanks, D. Jones, Howell, etc.

Continue to explore the possibility of moving Stoudemire -- take back absolutely no bad contracts that make no sense. A fellow expiring contract and 1 promising young asset/future pick would be fine with me. Either that or just play out the year with Amar'e and let him expire off the cap naturally.

Call up New Orleans and check to see if the following guys are available: C Jeff Withey, C Alexis Ajinca, SF Luke Babbitt and PG Russ Smith.

I would do due diligence on Nick Young though. And if there ever was a guard we could get on the cheap that would be a great fit in the triangle, it would Evan Turner. I would probably stay away if it were me but because Phil is the man it may be worth exploring. I expected big things from him.

I think it's too harsh. I know he is inconstant and wanting more from all season is fair too, but he is still better than any of the replacements on the team. So why dump him, because of idealism over what this player should or shouldn't be.

Jr is better than Shump offensively and a push versus Thjr
Jr is superior defensively to Thjr(more of a comment on how bad Thjr was) and inferior to Shump
Jr is superior to both of them when it comes to ball skills and creating with the ball.

I don't anything about ellington, but even with Jr's flaws, he still thee best two guard the team has....hopes and dreams notwithstanding.

Has absolutely nothing to do with "idealism" or "hopes and dreams". Thats just plain silly. It has to do with always finding a way to let the team down in the end.. JR has stunk in the playoffs ever since he got here. JR has been suspended for drugs and for imploding in the playoffs. He rewarded a coach who gave him plenty of passes, when most coaches would have benched him, then threw him under the bus.

The Idealism is definitely a huge factor, Imo. He is the best two guard we got, with all the flaws. Outside of feeling better, because you don't have to see him, does getting rid of JR do at this point??? He was still the sixth man for us, even with the bad. Last year he was terrible pre-all star break and the third or second best player on the post break.

For 5.5 million last year, still played up to his earnings by year end. So without the emotions, why get rid of JR or declare his deal bad after 1 season, certainly looks like Phil isn't.

That would be great, but if we can find a way to move him then I'm all for it. If JR plays well from start to finish I will be the first to congratulate him. Its not about holding a grudge, its about building the best team we can with the most reliable players we can find.

Got to get to the playoffs to be bad in them you know, I don't see anybody on this roster that would better over 82.
