Knicks · Melo is seriously considering LAL (page 4)

No no.. Every tweet has Melo behind it. Every rumor of every feeling is pushed out by Melo. Oh wait... Disregard that last one. Just gas

Knick fans are jaded because we have never had a player go through this process. How long have we been hearing about Kevin Love? Kyrie? The big three.... These players are so coveted. There is going to be an excess of coverage and non stories and bs rumors. Just gotta let it play out

Hopefully thats true:

Us signing Melo for the max- disaster
Melo signing max with Lakers, meaning we get nothing in return: disaster (though not quite as bad as the above)
S & T with Bulls= best case scenario (though depending on what we get in return).

Yep

It goes

Melo signing for what he is worth "NO Chance in Hell"

Melo gone in a sign and trade for expiring deals and or young players, and or cheap starters

Melo leaving in FA

Melo signing a Super Max deal crippling the franchise

They can't- LA makes no sense, in fact they are probably in worse shape than we are. This years roster would be: Broken down Nash, Melo, Broken down Kobe, Rookie. They'd just have the MLE and minimum contracts to fill out the roster.

Its actually worse than that for the lakers. All exceptions need to be renounced to obtain cap space, so no MLE for them.

I tried explaining this to Laker fans who thought they coud give max deals to Lebron and Melo. Its the medias fault their the 1's telling them its possible. Weird how there are beat writers who get paid to watch games that dont understand how the cap works at all. Either that or they have no journalistic integrity whatsoever

These guys are such divas, lebron at the top of the list. Keeping all these teams and other free agents hostage. You whined and dined. Good for you. Make a move. You know the deal.

Yup. Goodbye Melo Bye!!

Enough of this. Why is Melo the only player on the team who lets "his people" talk for him. Enough is Enough get this slimy, dumb as door nail bum off my New York Knicks. I want the New York Knicks to be about team again not one primadonna!

While going after Lebron is understandable. Its stupid to go after Melo with the cap space they have. There are some decent free agents out there that they could just build a solid team. Ariza & Marvin Williams could be had for good deals. Or they could spend some more on Evan Turner. Offer Monroe a max deal.

If they didnt give Kobe that ridiculous contract they might of been able to get Lebron and Melo . They could of built their own team outside of Julius Randle.

Ariza is going to be overpaid. Turner is not a very good player for the money IMO. Williams is ok and could fit into a rebuilding team. Monroe doesn't offer much rim protection and will also be overpaid. IMO these guys are decent but more pieces you pay or overpay for ONLY once you have a contender or competitive team in place. If Melo walks we shouldn't be targeting expensive vet free agents. Cheap overlooked players, draft picks, and vet mins. Either the moves are savvy and pan out or we get a high lottery pick in 2015 and then have real cap space after bargs's useless ass and Amare come off the cap.

As for Melo, I'll say it again I'm not a hater per say but the worst option is giving him the 129 mil max. Id rather he walk for nothing. Obviously a sign and trade is the best case scenario however. At this point I hope he does bolt for LA if the Knicks did indeed offer him the full max. If takes less, great, I wouldn't mind that either.

I'm not one to simply diss melo after he leaves and then embrace when he returns "over 30 bad shoulders" lol. You guys have him suddenly amare. However, would love to have him for like $18m per?

It's crazy the flipping and the flopping.

I'll take the second best available and best truly available free agent for the max and call it a day.

54 games two years ago. Last year chandler broke his leg, Felton sucked and we had a bad year for coaching and still made a run at the end of the year.

Melo returns to the new culture and improved point guard and deeper bench and we will be pretty good.

That's why the bulls are so desperate to sign melo. They are a middle of the pack team. True, they content annually for the 4th seed. But similar to Indiana, still a super star away.

We have our super star. Age and shoulders be damned!

55 wins. :-)

I was talking about LA not NY.

Also Turner and Monroe are 25 and 23 and still have a lot of upside.

He could

No, he doesn't. With the new CBA players can only receive 5-year deals if they stay with their team. If they go to a different team, whether as a free agent or a S&T, they can only sign for 4 years, are limited to 4.5% raises, and can't receive the mega max.

MeloCentric senstive: Hostage? Its the season. We wanna talk about Amare's excitement to return to all star form? I hear he had some secret Israeli blood treatments, called "PlasmaContractYear Injection". Remarkable results are expected!!

Guns, is Melo really ruining the team the first week in july? Technically he is not a knick.

Shall we discuss Shump as the Kobe Lite? Melo can keep his kid enrolled in school in NY and play with the facsimile Kobe we call shump!

Are the Summer league guys standing around looking at hoophype on their smart phones waiting for direction?

I thought Leborn was the villain? I suppose some think these guys are being "selfish" for not letting the public into their inner circle? If they take max money they are also "Selfish"?
