Knicks · Melo is seriously considering LAL (page 7)

http://online.wsj.com/articles/los-angel...I'm sorry, is Melo an idiot? A shameless hypocrite? A BS artist? Or is he just trying to try and shift the blame to NY because he's chosen to go elsewhere?
How can you go on record as saying it's not about money, and you'll take a pay cut if it means winning, then when the team offers you the max but says if you take less they can build more of a winning team, pretend like your confused and disrespected?!
Where are the actual quotes from Melo? Can't believe you guys have such strong reactions to media speculation, third-fourth hand info and thinking out loud reports.....
because he has a posse, handlers, an entourage and they're all bitches who can't keep quiet. and they're collectively an extension of the primadonna himself. do you really want this dewd in a knick uniform?
DK7 u really have NO clue where any of this sheet is coming from. Just another reason to bust on Melo. Ur posts sound like u are getting more and more desperate as the decision is coming. I hope if Melo resigns u take ur azz somewhere else. I for one am getting tired of this biased bullsheet coming from u.
some have said that rumor is a subset of propaganda and propaganda has an agenda behind it, to persuade the gullible masses of said agenda. i think this is a very transparent instance of this age-old phenomenon.
what do you believe is melo's agenda here? or is the notion of rumor and propaganda unfamiliar?
and if you are familiar with it, do you condone it?
simple questions asked in a most civil way. can you respond with civility?

your issue is with carmelo anthony not me. that has always been the case but you are too preoccupied with shooting the messenger.
maybe you are overdue for some genuine introspection?

Maybe I am naive but I don't believe this propaganda is coming from Melo directly. I really think its just the media making crap up just to sell their crap. If u want to rip Melo why not wait a day or so for the decision to come down instead of reacting to stupid rumors?
ok i will.

Not at all. Trashing a guy based on media rumors and speculation is far from civil. I encourage you to look back on this forum to a time before you were banned at real gm to see my opinions on the trade and Melo prior to his becoming a Knick.

Deep down inside you know that he is coming back to New York. It's a done deal.
Correction. A few would not share. I with papa!
I'd say we were told we couldn't move Felton and upgraded.
To say we won't compete is year is falling into the same pattern as the previous two falsities.
Time to be a fan. We will be competitive this year, much more competitive as the previous year and damn near close to the year before.
We have a bench, we have a coach with a system, we have a future near and far.

my dislike for the way melo plays the game itself and handles his business has absolutely nothing to do with the rules set forth on an internet forum vis a vis civility.
secondly, i am not earning 145 dollars per second so i am not going to waste a single second researching a point you are apparently trying to prove about yourself. so if you have had something to say back in the day about carmelo anthony that will surprise me then YOU provide the links for the forum to see.
meantime the dude is a mess and it is certainly possible that he is generating some not-so-good karma for himself.

No, I want Melo back because he's an impact player who produces and its strikes me as utterly insane to let a guy as talented and as productive as him walk to gain "flexibility." The same flexibility we used to lure Amare and Joe Johnson here. Oh wait... ![]()
With MElo here and no clue from management we still advanced once and made the playoffs 3 atraight years and won 54 two seasons ago. I expect better results with new management. I also expect (already seeing this) a legit pipeline and players that compliment, rather than complicate. I look forward to winning the Atlantic again next year and punching a certain Raptor's fan in the nuts for fun along the way. Thats what I see. Thats what I want.

Melos agenda is to get enough Knick fans nervous he is going to leave so when he takes 30 million a year he is welcomed back as a savior

Our young guys will look a lot better playing next to him. Fisher's job is easier. Phil's job is easier. Bring MElo back. Bring in another stud next year. Keep building through the draft and adding young pieces... the team's prior mistakes were no because Melo was here. They were because the people making the decisions sucked.
I know others feel different. Thats ok. I understand the want to move on from this player. I also remember the same with Ewing.. lets usher in the new era of uptempo more athletic bla bla bla. I just want to see the Knicks win. Much easier with Melo here IMO. I think we go back to winning 50 and the Atlantic next year if he stays. Even as currently constructed.

Except Garnetts contract was worth 12 million not 26 million. Melos contract makes sense for some teams not the Knicks. The Knicks dont have the young core to offset Melos money. Dont give me THJ,Larkin, Early and the Greek as a young core. They are at best rotation players

The young core is not the finished product. That comes later.
carmelo is incorrigible but there will always be some "neighborhood chick" who believes he is worth the trouble to turn into a winner.
jackson knows better which is why he wants to hold melo to the discount melo himself volunteered but is now reneging on. (do you like that he is reneging?) whatever he ends up being paid in new york it will still be too much.

I also expect (already seeing this) a legit pipeline and players that compliment, rather than complicate. I look forward to winning the Atlantic again next year and punching a certain Raptor's fan in the nuts for fun along the way. Thats what I see. Thats what I want.
So Melo walks.. your in the "now we have cap space to sign max stars" camp I assume? If thats the case OK, but who are these guys we are signing? If the Knicks have Melo and win 50 games next year they will still be able to add a max guy with Amare and Bargs coming off the books. A full $20mm a year guy. I would think coming to a 50 win team would attract a bigtime player. Thats Phil and Fisher's challenge. However without Melo its looking like a 35ish win season at best. Can you tell me the last time star player(s) signed big contracts with a losing team? Amare? Joe Johnson (I think Deron was already there). Are those the type of guys your shooting for?

But those are NBA cellar dwelling franchises who dont care about winning, just selling some tickets right? Dude one half of your brain literally makes up bullsh!t, the other half of your brain believes it.carmelo is incorrigible but there will always be some "neighborhood chick" who believes he is worth the trouble to turn into a winner.
jackson knows better which is why he wants to hold melo to the discount melo himself volunteered but is now reneging on. (do you like that he is reneging?) whatever he ends up being paid in new york it will still be too much.

SMDH, dude your post are hilarious sometimes, how on earth are we so sure that melo is asking for the max.
The media reported Rose was part of the recruiting process, then 2 days later a report came out that he just happen to be in the building practicing, and the only thing he did was give melo a pound and hug.
At some point you have to think phil is a smart man, and knows how to formulate a winning culture.
From Day 1 I always said that Melo and woodson will never work, EVER. Woodson is a Heavy Iso coach, and Melo is a heavy Iso player. If woodson was still coaching, I would be praying that melo leaves, but thats not the case. I strongly believe this is the best situation for melo as a player, with the kind of leadership in the front office, and coaching staff, the type of players that phil will surround melo with, the mind set and is going to change.
