No news on the first practice?

I got some texts and twitpics from the practice. looks like Fish and Rambis were helped by some other guys I couldn't make out.
CrushAlot @ 7/8/2014 5:10 PM
Yeah. I saw a few things on twitter. Fish is head coach of the team. Phil was there for practice and the Knicks named two assistants. There might be a video clip on knicksnow

They added Rasheed Hazzard (LAL) and Joshua Longstaff (OCK)

Timmy seemed to be doing a lot of the ball handling.

Thanks.

Not surprising to see Fisher hire two assistants whom he played for. Was thinking he might also add a former teammate to his staff as well.

•Fisher discussed the importance of the practice sessions before game action and teaching his offensive and defensive philosophies to the young group of players. “This is going to be the way we play and so it’s important, especially having some guys on our roster that will be there for us when camp starts, then we start getting them ahead of the curve right now,” Fisher stated.

Fisher used the word “excited” no fewer than a dozen times in describing his emotions as a first-time coach. The summer league team practiced for the first time Monday night, and Fisher said he became emotional as he left for the gym. He said management had given him the option of coaching the team this summer.

“It wasn’t something that was mandatory per se,” he said, “but I’m excited to get after it, to have this opportunity to coach the New York Knicks. I mean, why wait?”

I am really excited about Fisher as a the coach.

Forgot where I read it know, but they asked Shannon Brown why he was invited to play for the summer league team and he said that one of the main reasons was to help get the triangle implemented. They also mentioned he needed to get some more PT since he didn't play much last year, but the first reason was definitely suspected here and fairly sound reasoning to have him on the team and in the practices. If we can get guys who have a chance to play a lot next year like THjr. to get an early shot at playing in the system that will help him go into the season hitting the ground running.

This is a smart move by Fisher to coach the team now as well. Why not try it out here in summer league, where you aren't gonna deal with the egos of established dudes and your mostly dealing with young guys. Start to get a feel for your personal style as coach now in a lower stakes environment.

Like what I've seen from Fisher in these vids.

So we're stashing this guy #43 next year in Europe? He's got good energy and hops.

I know. I am hoping a move is made to make room for him. Seems like he could come in on the second unit and really disrupt things.

OMG! Is it sad that I got mild chills watching that? Fisher is teaching an actual system and showing them their options and how to go through each one. After a few years of Woodsons blank stare and facial expressions this feels so good. If Fisher is a good in game coach I think we have just upgraded our roster a ton with the coaching change alone!

We have a few solid young guys on the team. In one move, Jackson added alot of youth. I will be interested to see how they look in the summer league.
