Lebron sint coming here. Also why teh rush to get rid of Hardaway. he was one of the only bright spots last year
No rush to get rid of Tim. I was responding to the topic, Are The Knicks Trying to get LeBron. What I have read is the Knicks proposed an amare Shump trade and the 76ers asked for Tim. Knicks said no. If that changes I think it is because the knicks think they have a shot at LeBron.
If we include Larkin and some of what we got in the Chandler deal, do you think we'd be able to make the deal and/or keep Shumpert out of it?
I don't know. It is hard to know what the sixers doing.

lebron james doesn't like NY, I heard that he is strongly considering cleveland...
I believe that more than anything. He turned us down once when we brought in a healthy Stat. Making moves, for the sake of LeBron, wouldn't be responsible for us.
it is just more wishful thinking from this fanbase.. lebron said he doesn't like NY.. why would you want him here anyway?

I am not sure if I want him. I know once he got to ny I would become a fan. Again, the thread was are the Knicks chasing him. If they move a player they value then maybe they are. I think Jax saw enough of Shump and might want to move him.

A different take, article describes Jackson and Knicks as actively trying to clear space specifically to acquire James now. Berman though so likely total garbage from his "source".
People are talking about Philly having such an abundance of cap space but Milwaukee is not too far behind. If Philly is willing to take Shumpert and Stoudemire, I could see Milwaukee willing to take a package built around Bargnani, Hardaway and additional contracts (e.g. JR Smith). It'd be insane if we could do that and put ourselves in a position to build around LeBron and Melo.
I don't know but Brian Windhorst could pass for Chaz Bono. A buddy pointed thAt out and that is all I can think of when he is on espn now.

If I'm the Lakers, why not rent Bargnani for 1 year at the cost of a 2nd rounder or a bit player if I'm about to lose Gasol? Seems reasonable no?

Kobe could brush up on his Italian too

Touche. The only problem I foresee is that they are in contention for the same players we are, which means that they'll only add that salary at or around the time that Melo and LeBron have already made a decision.
Why not Take on Bargnani and JR Smith for a Laker second round pick?...
Phil got them 5 rings. .. It's the least they could do

Why not the Suns who lost Channing Frye? Seems like Bargnani could fill the type of void he left. And let's not forget, Phoenix has one of the best medical teams in the league; look at what they did for Nash's, Amare's, J-Richardson's and Grant Hill's careers. The minute those guys left Phoenix, they seemed to have lost the ability to play in consecutive games or more than 40 games in a season. If any organization could get 82 games out of Bargnani, it'd be them and they now have some $25 million with no one to spend it on.

Might as well give them Prigioni as well. Who do they even have left at PG with Jordan Farmer gone and Steve Nash sticking around to collect checks?
TNK didn't "Heard" from nobody, its the same stuff we all reading.
We can guess from what we have read Melo wants to play with Lebron, and all we can gather is Melo wants Lebron here.
I have not seen any direct quote from lebron that he "don't like NY". I think we all know its a very small chance that phil can clear cap without gutting the team. When Dolan wanted Donnie to do it, the action hurt the team.
Seems to me that teams and the players are not saying anything to anybody so what we "hear" is really nothing.
TNK don't know anything but that lebron at the best is a slim chance. We all know that as well.

He could fit in well with Gasol (the team defender to his man defender). I could easily see Bargnani being their backup 4/5.
Bargs to Phoenix makes sense too...This just because a starphuchers dream
NardDogNation wrote:meloshouldgo wrote:NardDogNation wrote:Wouldn't Phil have to dump JR, Calderon, Dalembert as well to acquire enough cap space for LeBron? What's the likelihood of all that going down?
Why? Amare is a max contract if we can dump him we can sign Lebron as long as Melo doesn't ask for the max which he doesn't deserve anyway.
...because we're not going to get MIA to agree to a sign and trade, which means that we'll need $23 million in cap space to make that happen. With Melo's cap hold (if I'm not mistaken), we're still $18 or so million above the cap, which means that we'd have to clear $41 million in order to have the money to sign LeBron outright. We'd be the first team in NBA history to clear that much salary in such a short period of time.
and finally someone comes in and makes sense, way to many moving part, you would need assurances from Lebron before you start dumping young players then you need both those trades agreed on before the team realize what your doing and rake you over the coals for more assets

Don't speak too soon because I'm starting to buy into the hype if the rumors are true that we can dump Amar'e on Philly (highly unlikely unless someone owes Phil a major favor). But if a team were to ever clear that much cap space, it'd be this season. About half the league has cap space and a majority of them will get caught with their dicks in their hand, which will give us a number of options to shed our one year deals. I'd only indulge in a purge if LeBron gave me some kind of guarantee though because I'd hate for 2010 to replay itself. We gave away too many assets on a fool's errand.
Amare and Shump to Pho
Bargs and THjr to Phili
Thats about enough to start both guys at $20mm
PG Calderon
SG JR
SF MElo
PF Lebron
C Dalembert
bench: Larkin, Cole, Early, etc
Prob have to give up more to PHo/Phili but that would be the gist
EnySpree wrote:Bargs to Phoenix makes sense too...This just because a starphuchers dream
Calderon to Phoenix makes even more sense. When the trade was initially made with Dallas, I thought Calderon was going to be on his way there for Tyler Ennis (the 18th pick). They needed a backup PG last season and I could see Calderon being interchangeable with Bledsoe and Dragic. Besides that point, Ennis is a mediocre athlete and pretty slow, two things that are not fits in Phoenix's offense (see Kendall Marshall). Poor fits like that are usually a tell tale sign that a team is drafting for someone else. Personally, I really, really, really like Ennis and would be estatic if we could get him, while dumping Bargs and Calderon on them. They have so much cap space, I don't think they'd flinch in taking on that money unless Loul Deng is a legitimate target for them.
