I agree- let them expire. It's a long shot, but it is a contract year for them and we actually have a PG. Contract years seem to allow injury prone players to magically not get injured (See Mike Miller!). Bargs is also best buddies with Calderon. If they are playing well by the trade deadline, ,maybe someone gives a second rounder or something for them. If we just dumped them now, we wouldn't have anyone lined up to replace them- it's just pointless. Amar'e also played pretty well last season and is a hard worker. Is Tyler really going to play better defense than him?
Amare has no I.Q??? yall foolish if you believe that.....smh...smh...wrong!
With the Gasol rumors, saying Phil Jackson believes we can make a move for Gasol and that he is worth around the 10m mark, says otherwise
I do not mind as much, though I don't know what we would be giving up, I wouldn't mind if it is just for players, as we need roster spots
However, I do not think Gasol is the answer at a 3 year deal, maybe a stoppage player for 2 years at best
With that asking price, I would much rather have Trevor Ariza, though we do need an upgrade at the PF/C that can post up and initiate the OFFENSE and facilitate/pass
I question Gasol's age at that price
With the rumors of Lebron returning to Cleveland, I fully expect Kevin Love to be with Cavaliers as well, trimming the 2015 down to
Marc Gasol/Rhondo as the better players but not MAX players in my opinion

I agree. His IQ has got to be at least 60
Id like to see both guys be given the chance to play in the triangle and they will both be playing for their basketball lives as FA. And maybe more importantly we need that max cap space next year. If we are just mediocre maybe try to get rid of JR Smith near the deadline for another 6mm next year. Were going to need size--we will lose(mostlikely) three players with size Bargnani Amare and Dalembart. We will need to draft a big and most likely use cap room on a big. That is why I dont get why we didnt use one of our draft picks on a PF who can play NOW so we have that help.

Couldn't agree with you more....but trading STAT for T.Young is tempting and something I don't think P.Jackson can pass up (if this is whats on the table)

I agree 100% Briggs and don't have a but. Give them a chance and if it doesn't work turn them into upgrades at the trade deadline/all star break.
Also, I believe amare and bargs are better pf options than any rook available in the draft.

I think it just comes down to Phil not liking the bigs that were available in the draft. He clearly did his due diligence. If he was high on someone, he could easily have gotten someone with that 3rd pick.
Patric Young had a strong 1st game (statistically) in the summer league. 11pts, 13 rebounds in 19 minutes. He has a summer league deal with the Pelicans.
Carlos Boozer may soon be available for cheap as well. (though I see his more ideal destination being Houston - he could start a new big contract as soon as this season if the Bulls amnesty him)

Haha
"No IQ" is certainly a bit too strong but his ball IQ isn't high by any means. Him passing a little more would also be nice if he's gonna be playing in the triangle.

Anybody that wins rookie of the year and MVP at the same time and came directly out of high school is a winner in my book.

It sounded like the Knicks really liked Young. I thought they would sign him as an undrafted rree agent right after the draft like they did C.J. last year. I think dropping Tyler and signing Young would be a great move.

I never called him loser...
Am are claims to be a beast and calls himself stat.....but can't rebound or defend whatsoever.... He doesn't impact any game unless he's scoring.
What does that sound like to you?
Someone I don't want on my team.
He'll I'd just sign p young to a 3year rookie contract. We could've taken him 57as well. We also did not need 2sf We needed big players sign young and dump tyler
