Makes sense. He is ready to announce it. didn't want to do it the same day Lebron made his announcement. Doesn't want to do it on Sunday. Today is the day baby!!! Melo is coming back!!!
I think his best chance at winning next year, and getting paid, is Houston.
I think the best outcome is that he stays in NY, wins multiple championships starting in 2015-2016, and retires a legend.
Nowhere else but NY does that happen for Melo at this point, IMO.

I am getting the impression guys don't want to play in Houston.
Melo doesn't and more importantly his wife doesn't want to be there.

Yeah there was no buzz about Houston or Dallas after those visits. LA and Chicago were the two that seemed to intrigue Melo.
If he goes to Chicago I'll be shocked. Less money, pieces they'll have to part with, and playing in Jordan's shadow.
Even if he goes to Chicago and is able to win, whoop dee doo!
Stay in NY and win, battling Lebron year after year... that's epic basketball.

Melo to Chicago in a S&T is similar to Melo to NY when he came here. He will be going to a team with another star that has injury issues and costing them assets. It may not be on the same scale in terms of assets but the risks are similar and it may not work out long term. I actually think it's a great deal for us if we get their #1 unprotected in 2016 because Melo could show signs of breaking down by then and who knows what will become of Rose.

Their star is the guy who was #4 in MVP voting last year, not Rose.
Wishful thinking- the latest media tweets are saying he should make a decision on Monday. Jesus...

Lol you can see him sweating while writing that. So far, according to Isola, Melo was to report his decision on Thursday and then again ob Friday. Guy is funny.
Isola claiming it was Melo himself who told him he was returning to the Knicks last Wednesday and would announce it thursday.
IMO NY is the best option. We can pay him more money, will have cap space in 2015 and a pick. There's a decent group of young players here now too. We just don't have a sexy lineup right now, but we're far from scrubs IMO. Chicago can't pay him enough without our help and Rose is iffy as a reliable partner. The Bulls have a more ready made team but it's no lock to a title. It's a tough decision really. I just think he might as well stay and get his money and still have a chance to compete for a title over the course of the rest of his career.
This is really getting out of hand, there is no reason for it to take this long. He's been choosing between the same two options for weeks now, a few more days won't help.
More of the Media are going with Woj's prediction now- anticipating Melo to say he's returning to Knicks soon. Well done Melo, you have drained all good will about your return.

Carmelo Anthony will inform the New York Knicks he will re-sign with the club later on Saturday.
Anthony also considered signing with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks. Anthony was reportedly most heavily swayed by the idea of joining the Bulls.
Anthony was traded to the Knicks in February of 2011 by the Denver Nuggets.
Anthony reportedly believes in Phil Jackson's ability to remake the Knicks into a title contender.

Melo got the best owner in Jimmy Dol, best coach in Phil Jackson and best point guard in Derek Fisher... of course he's coming back
