More likely trade would be to get Delfino from the Bucks and slide him in the TPE. I wsish there was a chance to get Middleton from them but that's probably highly doubtful
CrushAlot@ 7/19/2014 10:44 PM
Maybe just get a guy like CDR. He was in Knick camp last year and played pretty well with minutes. He wouldn't cost anything and probably will be available.

That's not a winning move. Getting a guy like Dunlevy or Delphino works better to what we are trying ti do. Dunlevy is a true small fwd with skill on a 1 year deal. He'd be great in any system. Being Melo primary back up is a great stop gap for early, and gets more veteran leadership and savy out there.
Shump is a Chicago native. He allegedly plays defense too so he'd for well on chicago
callmened@ 7/20/2014 12:27 PM
I agree we need a back up SF. I like early alot but he'll have some growing pains. I'd rather sign an athletic SF. But please keep in mind that we don't have any money and we're not making any crazy trades.

Shump for dunlevy isn't a crazy trade. It's actually pretty fair.
And we do have money in the form of that trade exemption.
EnySpree@ 7/20/2014 1:33 PM
What you complainers think of Beasley? Kid is skilled and he could allow Melo to chill alot. Dude could even start sometimes. The triangle might be a system that takes full advantage of the dude. Didn't Rambis coach him in Minnesota?

Isola reporting Dahntay Jones is going to work out for the Knicks. Jones is a fantastic defender, and a really good locker room guy. Jones if healthy would be a really good pick up in my opinion

No I'm against trading Shump. Certainly not for mike d.

Another guy that can fill Shumps role as 3rd string shooting guard with no problem.

My signature is for you Guns. You're more concerned with your favorite player than the knicks.

He wont be cheap enough , he made what 4 million last year. Realistically your looking at guys like Jordan Hamilton

he could be good in a Ronnie Brewer type role from 2 years ago.

His skillset limits his market so I think he can be had at a cheaper price this year.

Agreed. Good name to throw out there, no doubt, but he's a little too long in the tooth for me...I think we can do better going younger and probably even cheaper (provided Early & Thanasis aren't ready or what we hoped). Devin Ebanks and/or DeQuan Jones continue to be my guys here if we find we do need more depth at the 3. Youth, upside and they'd come cheap -- right up our alley...Jones just signed a deal to go play somewhere in Italy (gotta believe we can get him out of that deal if we wanted to--probably has an out to the NBA built into his deal anyway); Ebanks as far as I know is still available. They're both different players but I'd be ok (ecstatic in fact) if we went with either guy for more SF depth.
Ebanks is 6'9" 220, long as hell and can flat out put the ball in the hole:
Jones is 6'8" 220, a FREAK athlete and pretty damn skilled all-around to boot:

He's Jared Jeffries with better hands. I'd like to see usbgrab another power forward.. JR is perfectly capable of spotting minutes at small forward if necessary. The ability to shoot is the most important thing for spacing.

What about CDR? He played some good mins for the cats last yr

I tend to agree -- Amar'e, Bargs, Smith -- these guys are all injury prone. That's what concerns me. I'd like to see one more PF too for depth, preferably someone who rebounds the ball. Where's the bulk of the rebounding coming from, esp. if Fish doesn't see Aldrich as a big-min. player? Bargnani and Amar'e aren't good rebounders...I bet they feel they're OK though - they may plan to keep Melo at the 4, probably thinking they have a huge mismatch in their favor there (I don't care for Melo going up against bigger players every night, bangin' him around etc., but what are ya gonna do? They don't seem to care. Interested to see if that changes now after the monster commitment to him...). With Melo at the 4 and with Jason Smith on board, I bet they feel they have enough there.
Devin Ebanks might really be the best fit for one more player -- he's got good size and length (6'9" 220 with almost a 9' standing reach), he's a 3 man that can also play 4. He can score and he can also help out on the glass. And he'd come cheap. Some good upside here too, upside we wouldn't be getting with Dantay Jones.
