Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. has been selected to practice with the USA national team during their training camp in Las Vegas which begins July 28.

Hardaway has been outstanding for the Knicks in the Vegas Summer League and his inclusion on the select team is the first step toward being invited to the national team pool.

good for Timmy!
MaTT4281 @ 7/18/2014 4:21 PM
Definitely will be a great experience for him. Also, it's solid reassurance that THJ isn't just the most recent example of us overrating our young guys.

Part of me wants him to be there and show what he can do the other part of me worries that he want show well off the bounce or on D

On the bright side, being there could be a wake-up call on working his a$$ off on defense!

Great experience and he will surely pick up some ideas on how to be a better player while practicing or playing against them in simulated games. Good way to learn about playing D- he will adapt/learn or be humiliated. He has pride, and might be able to emerge as a leader at some point- he will do what needs to be done playing with the stars.

He will come back a better player.

Only thing we should all worry about is him getting together with some other young stars and hatching a James/Bosh/Wade plan to play on the same team.

Gotta see which players from the experience follow him or communicate with him on Twitter after everything is over. Hell, maybe he can get them to come here.

It's going to be a sharp transition for Tim schooling d-league talent to playing against the best on the planet. Should be a good test and great for his development. Timmy for 6th man of the year should be the goal

Great maybe Lebron et al torching him on D will be extra motivation to work on that facet of his game. This can only be a good thing, right!

I like THjr and hope he can develop into a better than avg SG in this league. There aren't many great SG's these days.

As an aside doesn't it seem like there are a ton of SGs nowadays who can't shoot? Crazy.

Nice. Looking forward to seeing if Hardaway takes his game to another level this season.

Transitioning away from the summer league where he is shooting every time he has the ball might be hard , thats Melo's job on the Knicks
