Because all nba starters can defend their position?

looking fairly good in most advanced stat metrics helps
So how many nba starters are nba starters according to these metrics?
With that being said the team stays as is because of our limitations

My hope stems from the season we had 2012-13- the roster isn't that much different/worse. But then again it's not that much different/better than last years abomination either!

It could be, but last season our main flaw seemed to be PG- when Felton played okay we seemed to win despite how clumsy the roster looked. Calderon/Larkin is better than Felton/Beno. We have reloaded on 3 pt shooters (Calderon, Larkin, Early, Tim Jr, Ellington, Prigs, JR, Melo and hopefully a reinvigorated Shump). I worry about our rebounding, and the fact that Bargs is still here

I like that we've added some young character guys, but this team still needs leadership. More then likely this teams resembles last years. Also, I don't see why opposing teams guards are going to have any difficulty breaking us down, just like last year. And again, like last year, we will struggle getting points in the paint. 2 or 3 passes isn't going to break teams down in the triangle. If the ball sticks, it isn't going to work. The first few months of the season are going to be a struggle. From there, either this team bonds and forgets about individual stats or it will be a total break down.

Leadership is lacking for sure, but there just isn't that many leaders in the NBA, and there's certainly none available in FA.
If you get guys like artest and Kmart to join, you have a collective group of guys (youngs and vets) that are high character/IQ guys, so the lack of a true leader, isn't that detrimental.

My other concern is that we just don't have the personal that can attack and get the defense out of position. Screens and cuts isn't enough, you need guys who can attack inside and break defenses down off the dribble. We can't be successful as a jump shooting team. We need some guys who can get the ball inside and score for a high percentage.

NO, AND THAT is why some players in the NBA who start are not "legitimate" starters...

Rodman was a nut job but he had a very high BBall IQ. I just don't see Dalembert in that spot. The Bulls never had a rim protector. They played a lot of positional defense. Wasn't their top shot blocker at one point Pippen? I think values BBall IQ more than anything else. This is probably why he talks highly of Bargs. He wants people to not be surprised when Bargs starts at C.

Im not so sure what worked then would work now, when rodman played there was a lot of physical play, you can actually touch someone your defending, and he would get under anyones skin. Now, rim protecters have to be very smart, very athletic, and have good stamina, and more than anything on the court, they have to be communictating every single defensive possesion.

Wasn't his name Jeremy Lin:) Lin had a nice stretch with the inside/outdide game working for him. Then you had 6th man JR who also started to attck the basket and did less gunning. Then there was thebest 3 pt shooter in the league Novack.....of course they all came back down to earth again.
