And for the nuggets except that one year where they pushed the lakers. Once in 11yrs

He may say dumb things and do things you don't like but repeatedly stating that he is inefficient is just wrong. I am not sure that you understand what that means /////
Oh I know what it means. Melos postseason shooting is atrocious and when he isn't facing weaker teams in the regular season
oh ... you talkin about playoffs
Do you have stats to show that he is atrocious (efficiency) against the non-weak teams? I have not seen this.

I kinda will become the next President of the United States.
his TS% in the regular season is 54.7% which is unacceptable if you are touted as an elite scorer
his TS% for the playoffs sink to 51.3% which is unacceptable no matter how you slice it
"but he has improved as a knick!"
no he hasn't, not in the two FULL seasons where he played AND made the playoffs:
2012 he went from 52.5 in the regular season down to 48.9-- this is a 3.6% falloff and spells failure
2013 he went from 56.0 in the regular season down to 49.7-- this is just a straight up abomination
"he didn't have enough help and his coach sucked"
it's never melo's fault.
All that matters is how Melo and the team performs from here on. It's a new day, new leadership and new culture!!! I could care less what Melo says in relation to his contract. I care how he feels about the team, Coach and GM. We need to see how this all comes together. I don't see Melo not buying in to the new culture Fish and Phil are creating here. He has no reason to resist since this system is going to be based on doing things he's already great at doing. It should make him a more efficient player along with a more efficient team. Sure his comments are a bit phony. Lots of players make similar kinds of comments. In the end it's meaningless.
Dumb as bricks and a effing hypocrite to boot. We have a winner!
You can't have a new culture when the centerpiece of your franchise consistently lies on national media. I hate selfish pricks and I hate hypocrites and liars even more. this guy manages to be all three.

Agree. The guy signed his contract 10 days ago. Should he have said he doesn't care about winning? Where is all the outrage with Phil Jackson offering him the deal? The cba is what it is. If a max guy chooses to stay with his team he gets a 5th year and more money.

That's not true. The sad part is that there is 35 million committed this year to two guys that can't play and that puts the Knicks well over the cap. That changes next year.

When this team is playing unselfish BB and winning games with the very same Melo as the lead player, there will be silence from his detractors. It's really not about his words. It's gonna be about what this team does on the court. We have IMO the best leaderships we've had in more than a decade. Phil is here and has been putting his people in place. We saw already how that impacted the SL team and all the decisions Phil has made so far have been to the betterment of this team. It's just the beginning but you get the sense that things are changing for the better. Guys are making too much of Melo's comments as if it really has any impact on what this team does on the court. It does not.

The tone has been set for future free agents to ask for every penny on the table.
Jason Smith was first, snatching up all the TPMLE
There may be some preparations of excuses in process.
Phil can't be blamed, can't blame Fisher he's tied to Phil, can't blame Melo because it's 'meaningless', can't blame Shump, Hardaway, Larkin, Clea because they are our youth
I guess this leaves Amar'e, Bargnani, and Smith

I contend that even STAT and Bargs can be positive contributors this last contract year under LEGIT LEADERSHIP. Phil and Fish have a better plan for this team and I think they can get more out of this teams players. If this team is in the playoffs and playing better BB that's really all that matters. I want to see Melo playing team oriented ball.
The Triangle doesn't even demand anything different from Melo because even if he plays exactly the same the REST of the team will be playing in the Triangle and running the offense as intended. That will help Melo by default. This is about DFish coaching and Phil building the roster to have balance and potency. Melo just helps to make it all more impactful. I think we'll see more of "Olympic Melo" in this offense. The plays lead to more scoring in the flow. Woody's offense did not and MDA's offense was too PG driven for Melo. This offense is NOT PG driven like MDA's and it's not stagnant like Woody's. This is why I have a very good feeling for this team's chances this season.
Knicks have made offer for Kevin Love

Amar'e-Shumpert-Hardaway
If true I wonder how this will effect them, specially Amar'e since he's been in several attempted trades since last year.

Well Amare opted in. Haven't heard if he has been quoted as saying he wants to win. Also, I read somewhere that Phil is worried about Shump's attitude.

Amar'e was supposed to opt out of a $23mil contract?
He has to feed the media with pom-pom victory quotes in order to convince he's on board
Didn't someone say in another thread, it was reported Shump has been working out according to the team's desire and they are pleased thus far
Everything I've seen from Shump shows me he's not as focused as I'd like him to be.
I hope we don't have another season where guys are trying to protect their own and get theirs like Lee, Harrington, Nate did in their contract yr
It's what you do when you work for a dysfunctional organization. FUCK everyone and look out for yourself. Melo set yet another negative precedence

I, for one, prefer to like the players on the team I root for, and Anthony's hypocrisy is not exactly endearing to me. Everything he's done so far in terms of the original trade and this contract has been for him, and him alone.
Many folks on UK make a big deal about how "he should get as much as he can," or "how can he leave $30M on the table?" Fine, but something is really wrong with people if they don't have a reaction when Anthony, probably looking for some kind of love after seeing the general reaction to his fleecing of the Knicks, comes out and says its not the money, but winning, after getting $124M from the Knicks, and spurning less from a team with a much better chance of gaining a title.
Some things for you to think about:
What will you write if Anthony doesn't completely buy into the theoretical unselfishness of the Triangle and we don't even make it to the EC finals during his contract?
What will you write if the Knicks are only OK, and Anthony leaves after 4 years to play for less with Durant on OKC of James on the Cavs?
What will you write if we reach the EC finals in year 4 and he opts out with the intention asking for a 2yr/$65M contract, benefitting from the new cap numbers?
Will you have a different view of what he's been saying and the contract?
Just wondering.
