Knicks · Carmelo Anthony: "I want to win" (page 6)

I clicked on that useless link and there is no need for DK to click on it.. what does it prove? again, is it too hard to stand up to him and defend an argument instead of trying to drag the argument down to the gutter with useless links?

i clicked on the link. it confirmed what i already knew. the issue in that thread was whether anthony was guarding lebron and the answer was no. in fact based on the lbj highlight reel it really looks like anthony is in the ymca on a tuesday night. and as i said then, i watched the game on a video stream, for reasons i can't recall. why would i lie?
hey it's great when guys here try to cite threads from there. it's a white flag moment. they have no argument so they feel forced to scavenge stuff from years ago.
as i said before last season, when melo announced his intention to explore free agency-- what was said cannot be unsaid. it colored the whole season and was a big source for implosion, which i correctly predicted. human nature trumps professionalism. hard to rally around melo if you're his so-called teammate and he comes up with such a statement. it doesn't instill confidence or inspire one to give effort.
and here again this summer, anthony opens his piehole-- and what was said cannot be unsaid. although i have hopes for fisher, it's statements like melo's that makes it extremely challenging for other knicks to give their all.

No I was referring to putting people on ignore.
As far as the realgm I didn't pay much attention to it because I don't see how it applies to this topic
not only does it not apply, but it is from a poster on that site who had an ax to grind with dk.. I know, dk has mentally whooped his tail on numerous occasions..

like i said, do your research. truth-tellers often garner animosity. they couldn't handle the facts laid before them, either concerning the nature of the game and the psyche of those who play it.
melo has been consistently true to form in every sense since january 2011. it will take a miracle by fisher and jackson to rally the knicks, now that melo has "kind of" done "exactly" what was asked of him.
and if the knicks don't make a splash then who do you expect will want to come play here with carmelo?
ps i would not be surprised if a couple of my old pals have an account here under a different name... why don't you PM some of them and find out.

Those who choose to use the "Big Lie" have had much historical success, even when contradicted by the facts.
Think about the Birthers, Creationists, Climate change deniers, etc. People want to believe the things which fit comfortably into their mindset, especially if they like or support the liar. Remember how many believed Clinton (who I voted for) and his Lewinski denials? Remember the WMD lies pushed by Bush?
Anthony is in good company, but he would have been smarter to keep quiet, especially since, a few days before the ESPN interview, he opened up a venture capital company in order to make even more money, since $124M might not be enough to feed the kids.
As stated by Carmelo, "I particularly have my eye on companies that are involved with wearable technology and connected devices." A new charity or non-profit foundation might have seemed fitting given his contract, and been great publicity to counter the negative comments made by many about his contract, but I think all Knicks fans who spend time at the Garden watching the Knicks will take pride in the possibility that the money they spend on tickets and items at the game will, indirectly, go toward the marketing of Carmelo headphones and other wearable technology.

I wonder for how many years has it been since D7th has been talking bad about Melo. Was it when Melo. If anyone knows please let me know. I mean from the beginning of his careen? Id like to know.

Until Melo plays games for this season he deserves whatever criticism he gets, when he responds in interviews like this.
I'm kind of confused
If Melo has played flawlessly his whole time here, why is the triangle such an x factor?
Why does Phil have to 'reach Carmelo' and 'change his game'
Is the thinking Carmelo is going to go from scoring 25-27ppg to 30-33ppg with less volume?
Triangle proves to be some hocus pocus remedy for him

The triangle if ran properly would hopefully stop the rest of the team from standing and watching iso ball. Instead there will be more spacing and choreographed motion away from the ball leading to more efficient shots for the whole team as well as the belief that the whole team is contributing to the offense rather then relying purely on Melo.
That would be the hope away. But then again why hope for anything, we should just come to message boards and complain all day over things we have no control over because that's what leads to positive outcomes.
Supposedly the NBA salary cap will jump significantly in 2 years and that is why LeBron only signed a 2 year deal.
Anthony signed for 3 years before he can exercise his opt out and that 1 year will be a difference of close to 10 Million on a max contract.
So I think that when Anthony and others say he left a lot of money on the table they are not referring exclusively to the few million he left on the table next year, but the much larger sum he will lose out on on year 3 by being locked into a contract at that time.

Even more confused
Is it okay to complain about how bad Felton was at point, how bad Tyson defended the paint, about Amar'e knees, about J.R. and his immaturity?
The reason I ask////is there much rebuttal when it's done to players above or is it the timing of complaints
When the regular season is 0-0
Optimism proves we'll finish 50-32, pessimism proves we'll be 30-52
When the regular season is 20gms in
Optimism proves we'll go 40-22 if we start 7-13, Pessimism proves we'll go 20-42 if we start 7-13
When the regular season is 40gms in
Pessimism is acceptable sitting at 15-25
When the regular season is 60gms in
Stone whichever player you want except your absolute favorite

Sorry, but nothing you stated means anything to me. I only care about what the team can do moving forward in order to be successful.

Most of the BS in this forum is from people that just want to push their negative agenda, not add anything valid to the conversation. "these people"
what are you going on about?
jackson: "He did exactly what we kind of asked him to do. Give us a break in the early part of his contract so that when we have some wiggle room next year, which is hopefully big enough wiggle room, we can exploit it, provide a more competitive team for our group,"

what truth do you speak of? do you understand that the real world has mostly to do with realpolitik? jackson's statement was transparent doubletalk! i don't mind because he is innocent until proven guilty. plus he has to deal with carmelo... sheer torture. and does fisher have the stones to challenge anthony?
he'd better or it will be more of the same.
