Read that no knick offer was recieved by wolves.
If we did, its the starting basis of a discussion. Maybe thats all it was?
Love is now reported to have said he won't resign with anyone else but cleveland and will play out the year in Minny. This reduces what they can get from Cavs, and could be Wiggins is off the table.

Love brings a lot of rebounding and offense. Amare doesn't rebound and is too inconsistent on offense with what he's trying to do. I would do this trade with the quickness. I don't understand what you mean about the staying line up being ugly. And the defense? Amare doesn't defend and if you want a defensive guard Dahntay Jones would probably be signed to fill that role.
dahntay jones haha who are you kidding...calderon anthony n love sloppy defenders right?

Minnesota is going to cash in big time. They win no matter what happens.
This report is loose because it is just plain stupid. No way on earth Minny would even consider this offer. Its laughable.
Yeah, the offer is absurd. We'd have to include about 8 first round picks to make it a fair deal.
I don't think the offer is absurd, but clearly not the best they'll receive. It was probably as much as we could offer, at least as a starting point.
Minnesota doesn't have a lot of leverage because whoever trades for him will want him extended. And what happens if he declines on those better trading partners?
I haven't ever heard he would want to come to NYC - so clearly, we're not getting him. But I'm glad Phil tried.
We dont know anything that love wants to do!!!! dont believe everything! There reports were out that lebron n cleveland didint even have a conversation....come to find out they met face to face one weekend, nobody knew about. just saying

Stoudemire in his prime just a few years ago was better than love

No power forward is matching Amare in his prime..just by talent and production

Media assumes since they were not in on Meeting with Lebron and Gilbert it did not happen and Lebron to CLEV could not happen!
There was a report that Gilberts jet's manifest showed a Florida trip about a week or so after the finals. We don't know who picked the coach but Brown being fired after just one year is suspect unless it was just about Kyrie.
No surprise they turned it down. So much for THJ being untradeable. In way this is good. More incentive for Hardaway not to get too shot happy at times. New regime.
So i just read that love is basically pulling a Melo, saying he won't resign with any team other than the Cavs, and if not he'll wait for FA.
The stupid part about this thinking, they won't have the cap space to sign him next yr without a S&T so he has Zero leverage.

Zero!
Minnesota doesn't have to trade Love. Minnesota just can't panic. The problem with having max players is if they are unhappy they cause so much problems. As a franchise they need to think about letting him walk and saying to hell with it. They'll have money and they still do have players to build around. It's not like Love made them a playoff team. So no Sweat off their back.

Not sure that Lebron would do it again, or if it would even make a difference cap wise, but in theory James can opt out next year so he and Love can work out a contract situation with the Cavs that gives the team some flexibility. They could also sign short deals that take the probable cap increase of 2016 into consideration, so they can resign then.
They also have a team option on Bennett. I hope Bennett can play, for his sake, but what if he less than stellar and the value of his salary was the only thing standing between Love and the Cavs?
Just a thought.
So now all the Cavs have to do is wait a year and they don't have to weaken the team to add Love. Sounds like a better scenario to me.
It's ashamed that this is what the league has become, players signing short term deals, demanding trades to play with other stars, handcuffing GM's into one sided trades.
Thats why there's no loyalty with the players, fan base, and Owners.
Fans get disinterested because there favorite player leaves, or the core is broken up.
Players leave for greener pastures.
Owners dismantle teams, make stupid trades, offer weak contracts to role players, assemble a unbalance roster, and Fire coaches even when they have had success.
Give melo a little credit for believing in Phil, and helping to build some stability in the organization.
You probably can count on one hand the amount of NBA players that have been on the same team for 5 or more yrs

You had me up into the bold part.. I mean you were on point and then you took a sharp right into no mans land...
I hope you don't believe that, because if all the knicks offered carmelo was what the bulls could offer that slouch would be in chicago....
believe that...

You guys think too highly of Love, If you put Melo in Loves position, everyone would be saying melo is a career looser and could never take his team to the playoffs despite posting great #s.
Amare's expiring contract means nothing to the Twolves, they can have all the cap space in the world, the only players signing there are draft picks.
The smartest thing they did this off season, not given in to BS trades for love. They really need to bring in establish players when they make trades, instead of always going after young players (al jefferson, wiggins)that will leave the first chance they get.
They need to trade for 2nd contract players that are already inked for 3 more years. Josh Smith and draft picks something like that
This is a laughable offer for Love. Make no mistake, Amare is just cap relief for Minny, that's it! C'mon guys, we can't all be so homerish on this board to really think this is a reasonable offer?
There have been a couple of reports that state Love really wants Lakers or Knicks and will sign with one of those two teams if he is a free agent next year. Perhaps, he has refused to extend with Chicago or Cleveland and therefore those teams are not willing to give up anyone big for him as a result...
Knicks making this offer is likely only to let Love know there is interest on the Knicks part.. so just hold on for one more season...
It is the only way Knicks can communicate that fact to Love without tamerping as he is not a free agent and currently under contract with another team.
I see the Bulls are getting the Pacers treatment from the media this season- they spent last month campaigning for Melo to sign with the Bulls (He everyone, lets pretend Rose is magically healed, just like we did last season!), now they are campaigning for the Twolves to trade Love to the Bulls...

Exactly!! They knew going in the trade would be rejected, but they did so and then had it made public to hopefully create interest from Love in the possibilities of coming to NY.
They already did the same thing by mentioning Marc Gasol as the top target for 2015 so now that is in his and his agents mind. They should do the same thing toward Monroe.
Yup Bulls were a lot of peoples favorites last year. That needed quickly with Rose re-injury. Media is a joke

Who are you kidding
Dude i know your disdain for Melo and thats fine, if it was up to this guy would be playing for the vets min. Notice I said a "Little credit".
My whole point is I want stability, nothing develops without stability.
You on the other hand would had prefer not to resign him for that money and pray like hell we land a decent draft pick or over spend (like we did with amare) on a avg star FA. then do the david lee, chandler, nate robinson thing all over again.

Letting one of the 10 best players in the league walk for nothing is beyond stupid, especially for the T-Wolves who will never interest a superstar type player to sign with them.
