Here is a quick link and this was just the first one I ran into when I googled it (there are others)...
Your right though knickscity, it wasn't last year it was 2 years ago.

This particular article wonders whether denying Love the max extension was racist...
I am not going there and don't claim that it was..
I am only posting this link to enlighten the absurdity of what is Reality...

If any team in the NBA was accused of being racist against whites you would expect the T-wolves to be the last name to come up. The wolves have probably led the league in white players on the roster the past couple years. I also think his scalabrine example is off, people make fun of scalabrine because he's a marginal player, just as tons of people made fun of Raymond Felton for being chubby and playing poorly, race isn't at all the biggest factor in the reps of these players.

nyvector16 @ 7/27/2014 1:46 PM
Agreed... the only point of the link is to provide evidence that the TWolves did in fact deny Love the max 5 year deal he wanted.
He felt disrespected as he is their best player and now he wants out as a result.

David Kahn did so because they wanted to have the flexibility to offer Ricky Rubio the max in the future....or so the story goes.

The stupid part about this thinking, they won't have the cap space to sign him next yr without a S&T so he has Zero leverage.

Zero!

Minnesota doesn't have to trade Love. Minnesota just can't panic. The problem with having max players is if they are unhappy they cause so much problems. As a franchise they need to think about letting him walk and saying to hell with it. They'll have money and they still do have players to build around. It's not like Love made them a playoff team. So no Sweat off their back.

Letting one of the 10 best players in the league walk for nothing is beyond stupid, especially for the T-Wolves who will never interest a superstar type player to sign with them.

maybe the wolves don't view him as one of the 10 best players in the league..

And lets say if that were the case.. what good is it doing the wolves as he has never led them to the playoffs?

after some point you have to look at everything objectively... and putting high values on players based on fan emotions or even your own emotions is never a good thing..

I could not agree with you more.
Year after year, the Bulls players are sooo overvalued.

Deng is no superstar the way he used to get treatment from media...

The list goes on of overvalued Bulls players over the years:
Kirk Hinrich
Tyrus Thomas
John Salmons
Thabo Sefolosha
Ben Gordon
Andres Nocioni

Everyone of these guys was super-hyped by the media as something special..
Since the stats did not agree with the overhype they would resort to:
________ player is such an intangibles guy that is crucial to winning a championship...
BLAH BLAH BLAH.... Bulls players are ALWAYS overrated year after year...

so tell me how did that come to be? are they overvalued because they overachieve or underachieve?

Does the league just favor the bulls?

I would love to see the day when the knick players can get such value... but that usually comes with winning consistently at the very least.. the past 10 seasons bulls only had one losing season....

nyvector16 wrote:The scenario is similar but not exactly like Melo's Denver situation a few years ago.
The difference is he wanted a max extension last year and was denied because Minny was saving their money for maxing out Rubio.

Love is a superstar in this league where Rubio is just a very good role player up to this point in his career.
Love felt disrespected and decided he was done with the TWolves...
This is a problem of Minnesota's own making.
They put all their eggs in the wrong basket... lol

really? I think no matter what basket they had their eggs in, it resulted in not making one playoff... so how do we know which one is wrong?

Bulls are a solid team. I don't like how the media picks them every year over Miami and Indiana. Indy has gone toe to toe with Miami. Miami schools Chicago with or without Rose.

Melo or Love would've elevated the bulls to true championship contenders

when did the media favor the bulls over miami or indy recently? even with rose?

Melo or Love would've elevated the bulls to true championship contenders

I don't think they still beat the heat with lebron, because in the end, the key would be rose and lebron has shut him down... not sure how love or carmelo elevates them past the heat when in reality neither guy has been know to elevate any team at any point in their careers..

If you said indy has gone toe to toe with miami, I agree, we have evidence of that, and maybe a small addition from the pacers would have put them over the top....

maybe carmelo or love makes the bulls more competitive vs the heat but if they were getting "schooled" as you mentioned. not sure how carmelo or love changes that or tips the balance in their favor... if so, their own teams would and should have had more success and we see that didn't happen in NY and didn't happen in minny..

Another thing, if you think love is such a tipping factor, then guess what happens if he joins LEBRON in cleveland..

Miami has been the favorite every year since Lebron. They viewed Chicago as a threat, But Lebron ended all that locking up Derrick Rose.

The Bulls havent been viewed as a contender since.
