Then why hasnt Miami signed him?

Has he said he wants to play there? Anyway, IDK, they offered Bosh 118 mil. Don't ask me to explain what they're doing.

From his agent this past week....

Jared Karnes, Beasley’s agent, said Thursday he has had more than one conversation with the Heat but “nothing has resulted in a deal. [Other] teams have called expressing interest. There has been quite a bit of activity the past four days. Teams are encouraged by his career-best field-goal percentage (49.9) … and his attitude when asked to play a reduced role.”

That could just as easily mean he wants more than what Miami is offering. We don't know what's going on.

True, but at most it's just an update as to where they are.

Woodson might have found a place for him in his ISO heavy offense, but even he would have gotten sick of Beasley's inconsistent D.

Clearly you didn't read my post. Beasley had his best year in the triangle in Minnesota.

Did not watch him play there, much, but have seen enough of him. He was on a team with a terrible record, and I don't know under what circumstances he got his minutes. If guys have videos of him in Minny where he is playing within the Triangle, I will be sure to look at them.

If Rambis actually thinks he has value, he will urge Phil to get him at the minimum.

What I said about his game still goes, though. He is the type of player who will do best on a team where he is a primary option on offense. He's a rhythm player and he's always been a shoot first, if I don't have a shot, pass, guy. If a bad team was to give him 35+MPG he would average 20 PPG and about 7-8 RPG, and his team would still be terrible.

Not a guy you want on this team, IMO.

My bet is that Kurt didn't like the guy (since we haven't already signed him)...

Kurt Rambis got screwed cuz that idiot David Kahn. They had 4 point guards on their active roster that year, not even including Rubio who was hurt, and that other euro that was still over seas.

love averaged 20pts per that year. Beasley averaged 19. Ridinour was their point guard.

Best case scenario is Beasley sticks and realizes his potential. He seems better suited for a structured offense. He'll be behind a lot of vets here....on the Flip side were in the market for second scorer for Melo. He's 25 and saw how Miami did things. He's training with Durant. Who's to say at 25 the dude becomes who we thought he would coming out of college? The opportunity is his to take advantage. We currently have Bargs and Amare ahead of him at the 4

He averaged 19pts and love averaged 20pts. They were a young team and yes they ran the triangle.

Cant say rambis got "screwed" when he willing signed on the dotted line to a team that drafted 4 point guards in the draft just before he got signed, and tried to force the triangle offense on players that didnt fit at the time.

Rubio was overseas, he didnt comeover until the season after rambis got fired.

Rambis mainly got fired for his mishandling of Kevin Love.....that and back to back season wins in the teens.

Quite honestly he isnt head coach material.

I don't doubt his talent. I'm just saying, Kurt should tell Phil to bring the kid over.
I agree about a structured offense being great for him. Melo needs a backup. I do like Cleanthony but I wouldn't mind having the two kids go at it in practice!

Your right Rubio was still over seas....

Kahn hired Rambis to run the triangle. He didn't take it upon himself to just run the triangle. Al Jefferson was on that first team. He averaged 17/9...Love averaged 14/11. The following year love averaged 20pts with Beasley's 19. So you can't say he mishandled Love. They ran the triangle without the players. All that was Kahn aka the dumbest gm ever. Rambis was in a no win situation.

Anyway...I'm just talking about Beasley and the fact he was successful in the triangle, regardless of wins and losses.

I think Rambis had two big issues in terms of playing Super Be as. One, Super Be as generally gave up just as much, maybe even more, on D that he made up in points. Two, Bess's best position is power forward. Unfortunately, it's the position that Love plays.
I have no problem bringing Beas in on the cheap. But that's after we've exhausted all of our resources fortifying out rebounding up front. Beas is a good scorer, but that's not an immediate need on this roster right now.
VCoug @ 7/27/2014 9:24 PM
I don't think Beasley is good at all but these are the types of guys we have to take chances on, especially on a minimum contract which is the only way he could sign here. If we don't luck out on some guy we pick up off the scrap heap for cheap we're almost certainly screwed with a mediocre team with no shot a title and not bad enough to get a top pick in the draft.

Now that's funny.

poor shot selection. doesn't like to pass. not very intelligent. way too many off the court issues.

i don't see this happening. no way, no how.

You have to admit, watching JR and Beasley on the same team could be amazing! It would be a feedback loop of awful decision making. You could come up with any insane scenario involving those two on the same team and I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

Nalod @ 7/27/2014 10:02 PM
Rambis problem was Jonny Flynn thrust upon him to be his PG.

No need to worry, he's not our head coach.

My bet is Beas making a B-line for Denver......

yellowboy90 @ 7/27/2014 10:39 PM
Wow, Beasley is still only 25. I thought he was like 28. Maybe he has a turn around like Gerald Green. Who knows. If it is at the minimum sign him and if he doesn't act right cut him.

Great point about Beasley in the triangle. Also, Rambis knows Bease and that would be a plus.

Just a few more points and he'd be in max contract, no-trade clause territory!

hard to look at Beasley's career and find many reasons you want to bring him in. I trust this management knows what they are doing but this looks like a sketchy addition at best
