Didn't Durant leave the team?

I read this was the plan all along- they are going to take it easy with him because they want him to build up his conditioning after not playing games for so long.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Knee soreness kept Derrick Rose out of practice Tuesday, making it the third straight day he has not played any basketball. And that left Team USA officials wondering whether Rose will be capable of handling the rigorous World Cup schedule.

maybe this will make boeheim stfu and mind his own irrelevant business as a high school -- i mean college -- coach

He had something to say about this in particular, or he has a negative position about players playing for country teams?

anrst @ 8/20/2014 5:40 PM
about saying the bulls have better players, even though this guy can't ever play

Derrick Rose should be on America's Got Talent.

Playing basketball is always going to be too risky for him

He plays basketball in a way his body can't support.

The sad part in all of this he refuses to adjust

I was expecting to see a new and improved Rose

Don't get me wrong he's incredibly gifted and talented

Maybe more so than he's ever been

However he's placing too much stress on his body to maintain this style of play

Why is it so challenging for him to play more like a Point Guard

I don't get it

Not really sure what's up with Rose. On day 1 of team USA camp, reports were that he was playing defense like a man possessed - playing each game like it was his last.

10 games over the past 2 seasons (and he wasn't the same player in those 10 games). Only 39 the prior season. I hate to repeat myself, but his superstar days are likely over.

(But in other news, I can't see how any writers this summer could say with a straight face that Chicago was a no brainer choice for Melo. Less money, the superstar he'd sign up to play with was a shoot first guy that has played 49 games in 3 seasons, and a 6'8" PF (in Taj). And yeah, if Melo put winning first, he'd sign a league min contract with the Spurs. Or take Lebron's spot in Miami.)

he could be done. if so, it may be time for the nba to re-calibrate the rules of traveling and palming so players can preserve their knees.

Funny. Isn't he supposed to be returned to all star form? Sounds like a ton if hit air and it sounds like melo made the right choice.

Never going to happen- I know the Bulls are this years Pacers in terms of being the media's darlings, but:

a) When was the last time a player missed 2 years and returned to form upon their return? (genuine question)
b) Even before the knee injuries, he was physically breaking down with various other injuries.

This dude still has not learned how to play pg, and he still thinks he's 19..you would think 2 yrs of rehab would change his game, but i'm afraid he's a crossover away from another major injury. I recall both of his knee injuries were non contact, the most scariest injury of them all..

yellowboy90 @ 8/22/2014 1:34 PM
are you guys overreacting a little, maybe?
GustavBahler @ 8/22/2014 1:58 PM
Hard to call it overreacting when it comes to Rose and his knees. Not after all the games he's missed.
Allanfan20 @ 8/23/2014 12:53 AM
The fact that he is even on the team
is mind boggling.

Well you gotta figure he's using this as a tune up for the regular season

Allanfan20 @ 8/24/2014 8:40 AM
I understand that but this can't be a good way to accomplish that. At least continue your Summer workouts, play 3/4 assed pickup games with your teammates on occasion and wait for training camp.
