Cavs gave up Wiggins-Bennett-2015 first
Wolves gave up Love-Shved-Prince Luc
Philly gave up Thad
Now if you look at the Cavs assets and put them on the block now
What would they fetch
Wiggins 2 picks in the Lottery, likely Top 10
Bennett 1st outside the Lottery
2015 1st is what it is, a 1st[I think it's unprotected]
That's 4 1st rounders 2 in the lottery
It's a good trade. Nothing really lopsided.

NBA seems rigged sometimes, don't it? The odds are astronomical for how lucky Gilbert got. He may be a douche, but it's better to be one of those and lucky, than to be one of those and play "rock and roll" badly.

But it sure can look smart when everything works out. I am actually stoked to watch some Cavs next season. I am psyched for Love (one of my favorite bigs in the league) to have a champion to go to war with. I'm glad for Cleveland to once again have a reason to exist.
And the Knicks ain't going anywhere until we dump our dead weight AFTER next season. This year is the transition to Phil&Fish's Triangle & team first approach. It will be fun to watch, too.

Yeah, I definitely think the NBA is rigged. There is too much money at stake for them not to control certain outcomes. Just look at past drafts and I think that much becomes evident: Derrick Rose, native Chicagoan ending up in Chicago, despite a 0.7% chance of them getting the no.1 pick; LeBron James, a native Ohioan, ending up in Cleveland, in spite of how rare it is for the league's worst team to get the no.1 overall pick; John Wall, D.C. native, ending up in the draft the year that the Wizards had the no.1 overall pick. On and on these "coincidences" occur.
In spite of it all, I was still hoping that the Knicks traded Tyson Chandler and filler at the deadline for the Cavs unprotected 2014 pick. I know that the deal would be grossly lobsided in our favor but the Cavs have made a name for themselves at making bad decisions (see them trading assets for a 3 month rental of Loul Deng). With how desperate they were to make the playoffs, I could've easily seen them giving up the pick at an ill-fated attempt to get bounced out of the first round. And the funny thing is that they would've likely been no better with Chandler than they were without him. And we would've been looking at a top 4 pick, to be used as a tool to bring Kevin Love to NY.

It's a bit hard to see the CAVS making that deal. Deals are harder to get done than it seems. In the end Phil made the best deal he could. I think if another team wanted to get rid of a player for Tyson while giving us a 1st rd pick of any kind Phil JUMPS at the chance to make that deal. As it is he made a good deal.

The Cavs got hosed in the deal. Wolves are laughing their heads off with this deal. Cavs just gave up the "Next" for Love. I believe the Knicks will have no problems with the Cavs going forward. The Spurs to me have reduced LeBron and his mystic in my eyes.

Yeah, it's speculation on my part but the Cavs had the contracts (Varejao and Alonzo Gee) to make it happen. Deals aren't easily made but this deal would not have required anything extravagant to get done. The question is whether the Cavs would do it and I think they would've since Chris Grant was desperate to save his job and retain Kyrie (see the Deng trade and Jarrett Jack signing). Ultimately, Phil didn't have any input in decision making before the deadline so he never had the opportunity to peruse the possibilities of this market.

The irony of this is the Knicks have had trouble in the past just beating a team with just Kyrie on it, now their very likely poor defense will have no issues with LeBron and Love as well? Cant be serious. The Knicks arent even a lock to make the playoffs let alone beat the best in the East in such.
What the Spurs did was beat a team that was the best in the East which was quite flawed. leBron is still the best in the NBA, the NBA finals loss doesnt change that.
The Cavs will likely be there this year, outside of a Bulls team with a healthy Rose nobody else is in their stratosphere.

The issues with the Cavs are:
1) will they jell in time
2) Defense- they have some horrific defenders (Waiters and Love are some of the worst defenders at their positions)- really not sure they can become even an average defensive team
3) Inexperience- a lot of that team haven't even been to the playoffs
4) Center is a big worry- Varejao's injury history is pretty bad (played 31 games, 25, 25 and 66 the past 4 years)- they have nothing behind him.
5) Will Marion, Miller and Allen (if he signs with them) hold up the whole year?
So I don't think it's set in stone that they will tear it up in the playoffs- I'm excited to find out though!

I believe you are hyping the Cavs way to much. LeBron is still the best in the league no doubt but to say the Cavs are guaranteed to make it to the finals. No I don't believe that at this point of time. I think people are sleeping on the Knicks as a potential top team. This is the first time the Knicks have direction in a very long time.
I think the Wolves got an awesome deal for a player that was planning on leaving in the first place. They just got the potential "next" player.
