Knicks · Could you imagine if Melo (or any Knick) had said this... (page 2)

He wants a big backyard? Guess he's never heard of Westchester County or suburbs in NJ and CT? Move to Greenwich, a-hole. Better yet: Move da phck back to texas.

Just finish you contract, get the money, and go home to enjoy it... and shut up.

Remember, its not like he had a press conference or was leaving a club and went on a rant. He sat down and was asked a question for a piece about living in manhatten.

That is true but could you imagine the UK reaction if it was anything other than absolute devotion for New York from our marquee player? "He doesn't want to be here....he's only here for the money...he's not a good leader". I just find it interesting that D. Will seems to get a pass despite his abysmal performance on the courting the post season, his lack of off season conditioning and legitimately chubby midsection (as opposed to wearing protective body padding) & his coach killer past. All things that Melo is regularly castigated for.

but then again he's another teams problem so who gives a damn

Gets a pass? We don't really talk about the nets here. We got like 4 posters on the UK that slame Melo on all things Melo. If Melo said what Deron said then Im sure we'd slam him on the UK, but Deron don't get a free pass on the UK, cuz he ain't a knick!!!
Maybe on the Ulitimate Nets site if it still exists they can have at it.

Now you know the sample size is bigger than that. And we all know you're smart enough to take on defense attorney responsibilities for more than just one SomberMeloHater. Don't make me resurrect the YouTubeMelo thread...

And Melo stays here for the money and because his kid's happy in school here. And he plays at his own private gym in the city...and...and.. and...

I feel like we (or some of us anyway) do talk about the Nets here in relationship to how much better their situation is than ours and how much better their players are than ours but you are right though about him not being a Knick so ultimately who cares what he does or says. haha

Third thing is New Yorkers are tough.

I’m not going to lie. I don’t really feel so much like a New Yorker.

Nets are in worst shape than the Knicks

No, I think he means people who are entirely negative towards Melo, which I'd say is zero but I could see how other people might include one poster here.

Nalod @ 9/4/2014 1:48 PM
It all relates to Melo........

Could you imagine if Melo (or any Knick) had said this...

Maybe if and when Deron gets healthy and has "a moment" he'll feel more at home. It has been a huge disappointment for him and the Nets.
He had a chance to go to Dallas, he took the:

it's a sad message but his candor and honesty is refreshing. he doesn't seem to like paying lip service, which is in fact one of the things by which melo alienates knick fans.

I agree. I have friends in Wappinger Falls, Dutchess County. It really is like Utah up there. He is not being guided properly by his agent and the people around him

why would a grown ass rich man need to be guided into where to live and raise a family. Living in the city really isn't for raising a family, it's for you and your wife/girl, or a single man.

He's not home grown talent anyway.

I don't care what Deron says, he's not a Knick

Besides Melo has given us plenty of idiotic things

Including this offseason of how his free agency went

Deron comments do not directly affect us

Not in case he's potentially soon to be moved

And we happen to show some interest which I doubt

The only people who should alarmed at Deron's comments

Are Nets, and justifiably so////// although not much there

smackeddog @ 9/4/2014 3:28 PM
Everyones entitled to their own opinion about where they live, but Deron had the chance of signing with the Mavs- if he didn't like NY, why didn't he just sign with the Mavs?

Yep

The Nets could always trade him to

Some other uncomfortable city

What he said wasn't smart from a political standpoint, but I can see where he's coming from. NYC is not for everyone. Gotta have some toughness. It's not so easy if you like/need to drive everywhere. There's a certain amount of friction especially if you're trying to super-impose a suburban lifestyle on it. These guys got the big $$ though so they should be able to find a suburban area that's not to horrible for the kiddies.

There are sections of Brooklyn that are ideal for that. That's why constructing a practice facility in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn is such a great idea.
