Knicks · Could you imagine if Melo (or any Knick) had said this... (page 4)

Yeah. This represents an approach and attitude reflecting much more intelligence.

Why would that be relevant to a story with direct quotes from Melo?
Yeah, let's not question the intelligence of a guy who's busy bashing Melo with his own one-liners. Not relevant.
Please continue on to Mr. Barkley's thoughts and musings.
Feel free to question his intelligence. I never said otherwise. You should be intelligent enough to separate the author of the article from the quotes and judge the quotes on your own though.
Please take each quote (without the stupid snarky toolism that follows each one), and provide your calm, even-handed review of why any of those sentiments make Melo an azzhole?

Besides the remark from a post saying he was a D-Bag
Who else framed Melo this way
It's more of him not understanding how to conduct himself
During interviews, everyone knows it was a money grab
He shouldn't be the one telling us
He grabbed the money in a glorified fashion

my response to him is disgust, as in "his obliviousness, his complacency, his cluelessness, his whimsy disgust me." are you seriously NOT going to address the words that are coming out of HIS own cakehole?
instead of attacking others who find his words offensive and ridiculous, how about YOU defend them, justify them? or do YOU lack the intelligence?
gunsnewing@ 9/5/2014 12:52 PM
^you actually expect him to address that?
He is more interested at slinging arrows at other posters. Haven't you learned anything?

no i have not learned anything. but holding out hope that someone will actually show signs of genuine intellectual honesty is one of my weaknesses.
VDesai@ 9/5/2014 1:46 PM
There's no secret that this fool wants out. He's been dogging it out there and now staying stuff like this. I used to really like his game, but he revealed himself as a malcontent when he pushed Sloan of there and now with his behavior in Brooklyn.
ActionJackson@ 9/5/2014 1:51 PM
The hilarious thing is that i created this post to talk about how if one of our franchise players said what D Will said about New York & not liking it here that there would an outrageous outcry and people would be foaming at the mouth about how not dedicated he is and how he's only here for the money and amazingly this thread has turned into exactly that. Thanks guys
gunsnewing@ 9/5/2014 1:56 PM
So this was a bait thread?
gunsnewing@ 9/5/2014 1:58 PM
becauae according to Jrod Melohaters are the ones turning every thread into MeloHate threads

gunsnewing wrote:So this was a bait thread?
Not really cause I stated exactly what I thought in the opening post and even conceded that ultimately "who cares what D Will thinks or does" cause he's a friggin Net but like clockwork it became about #7 and how even when he says the right things or does the right offseason things he will always be a failure or as one poster eloquently stated a "Dooooouche". It really is sadly predictable.

Except Melo didn't say anything bad about New York
If you would have kept this thread strictly about Deron and Nets
Even in your title, without mentioning anyone else
Maybe just maybe you wouldn't have got what you were looking for
You swim in the ocean, you swim with sharks
ActionJackson@ 9/5/2014 2:22 PM
Yes indeed my UK brother and because i have promised the Mods that i will no longer shoot any sharks with a spear gun and then eviscerate them on the pier to see contents of their stomach, I will instead choose to swim to a different part of that big blue ocean where there are no sharks or even troll fish and keep it classy over there.
ActionJackson@ 9/5/2014 2:23 PM
Although occasionally i've heard this happens to sharks...

melo's words literally and figuratively speak for themselves, just as williams's do. so i offer you the same opportunity: please justify and defend what melo has said so that he does not appear to be a douche! that would be taking the high road before you leave for bluer waters.

It is easier to attack posters than answer simple basketball related questions CLEARLY
ActionJackson@ 9/5/2014 2:36 PM
Nothing i say would enlighten you in any away or make you see him any differently and honestly that's not really my (or any poster here's) job. You are entitled to your opinion as i am to mine and any further dialog would really just extend an already potentially toxic convo. ((swim swim swim))

you want to stop toxic convo? then don't just run away without admitting that there's no way to justify melo's words or interpret them in a positive way!

Criticize Carmelo for the flaws in his game, for repeatedly putting his foot in his mouth, and even if you think he isn't smart. That's all fair game.
But let's remember is the owners and GM's who offer these ridiculous contracts to the players. Just because they take the money, and what, 99% of the sports players who Are offered these huge contracts take them because 99% of anyone would take that kind of money if offered. It's compete BS to imply otherwise.
When someone offers you a metric shyteload of money, deservingly or not, you take it. That's not a money grab. If it is then almost every NBA player is guilty of the same thing because id say the majority of all players are making more than they are actually worth. It's the nature of the system and it's more the GMs and owners fault than the players. Melo included.
So really, this is about Melos tact but even then we all KNOW it's all about the money! Why else would he sign here back with a team that went to the lottery this past summer when athletes are all supposed to never deviate from the "it's all about the winning" line? He did what we'd all do, admittedly or not. So fine, criticize someone for saying it isn't about the money when it is but don't pretend like Carmelo is doing something that other pro athletes don't do in getting as much cash as possible.
