Two legendary posters who are both banned from UK Playa and cooch both have leagues that have earlier drafts. If you want in you gotta hit them up

Im interested in doing a league that would be weekly head to head, but points based as opposed to categories based. More like fantasy football. Anyone have interest in that?

No, I won't believe this.

Why was cooch banned? I just have to know.

I don't think Yahoo such a league to play but yes, finding a way to skip the drop/add/drop/add is a bit more challenging

I believe it can be done with an ESPN league

RonRon @ 10/9/2014 12:26 PM
Sure, I can probably only draft on

Thursday, Fridays if possible

VDesai @ 10/9/2014 12:30 PM
Just to give an idea of what I'm thinking in terms of a league - might be pie in the sky but whatever- just want to see if anyone is interested.

10 starters- PG, SG, SF, PF, C, G, F, UTIL, UTIL, UTIL
3 Bench
MAX 40 games player per week - I.e. you don't accumulate points after 40 players have played for the week

Scoring would look like:
Points (PTS) 1
Blocks (BLK) 1
Steals (STL) 1
Assists (AST) 1
Rebounds (REB) 1
Technical Fouls (TF) -0.25
Field Goals Missed (FGMI) -0.25
Free Throws Missed (FTMI) -0.25
Turnovers -0.25
Double Doubles (DD) 2
Triple Doubles (TD) 5
Quadruple Doubles (QD) 10

I'm in. Categories annoy me and I prefer ESPN to Yahoo

ESPN leagues pale to Yahoo.

Just my opinion but Yahoo is the standard for the free leagues I think.

Right now anyway.

Guys - Please feel free to join my league

It's $20 buy in - Plan to make this a Keeper League - Money is handled through Leaguesafe
You have to have played fantasy basketball before and this is a long term commitment.

Here is the settings page http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.co...

Please let me know your UK handle if you apply for this league that way I will know you are from here.
Draft date will be set when I have 12 teams that have paid their dues in full. This league is geared to favor defense and efficiency over the standard format.

Hope to see you there.

EDIT - 12 teams not 2.

A couple of questions. How many guys are you allowed to protect year to year? Also, I am not sure what the $300 auction means. Can you explain it?

2 keepers a year - more means there's little chance for bad teams to get better.

The draft is done in the auction format - You have a starting budget of $300, and you bid on each player you want. The highest bidder gets the player - it takes the "luck" out of the draft - all teams get to bid on all players if they so choose. You have to come prepared with a good understanding of relative value of players and how much you are willing to pay for those you want. Do some free auction mock drafts on yahoo/ESPN to get some practice. It's super fun and competitive once you get the hang of it.

Let me know if you have further questions - happy to answer whatever I can
