Thats kind of what I thought. The problem is who the heck is playing 4--we have Smith Bargs and Amare and even Acy--thats too much. My hope Is Early finds the back up 3
Acy has totally earned minutes so far at the 4, Smith may get some, but have to see him play first. I really dont see Amare or Bargs really getting burn if Fisher wants defense out there.That's the big story here I think. Will Fish bury Bargs and Stat and will Phil back him on this?

Phil wants to move both players, I'm completely sure of this. Amare just doesnt fit on offense and doesnt even try on defense....he's damn near playing for the opponent at times. Bargs actually probably could play, but Phil imo hated that deal that was made and is holding it against Bargs although he is a fierce liability on the floor as well.

Larkin was awful IMO
He settled down, I guess if that's what you mean
Dalembert had a couple defensive plays
A great outlet in the middle from Melo doubles
Early is real smooth, almost too smooth
Wear had his ups and downs but
He can have value in this system
Needs to get stronger, good frame but needs to get NBA strength

What I do hope for is for Fisher to reward actual play and not play names on a jersey. Wear and Acy are dogs out there and both are doing whats needed...scoring isnt everything, they prevent the opponent from doing so.

Yeah, I'm thinking Phil has the mindset to bury players if the costs are already sunk and he has Dolan's backing and that's why I am already kind of banking on Stat and Bargs falling out of the picture quickly if players like Acy and Early produce NOW. Jackson is clearly here to make things happen ASAP and I really don't think he gives a damn about Bargs and Stat at this point so if those two don't produce pronto and others show a better grasp of how to play the game right, then I expect Fisher to have the juice to bury them.

Bargs is the poster child for inconsistency, but he still has a better shot at fitting in than Stat IMO. If he can fugging pay attention and find his place on the floor, he could still be in the rotation, though I doubt he'll be a starter at the end of the season. Still, I prefer to build a team and Bargs is a goner, so I'd rather bury him and give him and Stats minutes to guys like Acy, Cole and Early.

Fish said he's liked what he's seen from Bargs. In truth trying to settle on a rotation is gonna be tough. In the end I do believe Fish will play the best performing lineups so STAT and Bargs or anyone else will have to prove worthy.

I'm pretty sure Fisher is making some very quick assessments as there are some guys out there truly shining in a complete positive way.
Once Fisher set the bar for the defense it automatically ruled certain players ineligible. Amare and Bargs will bench themselves and role players who are putting in the work will garner the minutes.

Bargnani started in the Knicks' preseason opener and played well early on. Fisher is optimistic Bargnani can be a strong rotation player for the team this year.
He missed nearly half of last season due to an elbow injury.

I think JR could have a big year I dont think JR will cause anymore problems and if he plays the way hes capable hes a quality player In terms of PF the bottom line is there are tto many players
I'd like to see Larkin be more aggressive and look to score a little more . I want to see stat start and get a little more burn (I'm sure he will). I also want to see more early that kid is good!!

That's why I don't have the same prediction for JR as I do for Stat and probably Bargs. He'll be in the rotation unless he pulls some more dumb stunts or gets off to a bad start, both things he is still capable of doing. Its up to him since he can be useful if he is a good boy.

Music to my ears neither Bargs or Amare are part of the future. I wouldn't give two shytes if either was benched permanently or cut tomorrow. Give the minutes to someone else who has a shot to contribute going forward.

It's gonna take a bit more evidence to make that determination. They won't gig up on any of the vets so soon.
I will say this- our players are looking sharp, at least individually, especially considering this was only the second preseason game- it's like night and day compared to this time last year.
I like Larkin, and I think it's important to be patient with him- there were two occasions where he was ahead of the pack and raced to the basket, only to pass out to the 3 point line, when really he should have finished. I like his speed, he just needs to settle down and improve his decision making- that will only come with minutes.
Having to play Amar'e and Bargs, is really going to weigh this team down. I like Amar'e, but at this point he seems to panic that he's not getting enough shots and then started hoisting up stinkers or turning over. If he focused on contributing via rebounding, and picking his times to go on the offensive, he'd be way way more more valuable to the team.
I like that Acy and Wear can hit the mid range. JR wasn't playing in the system at all really- he was productive though, but if he's just going to be a free lance gunner, then he's limiting himself to a 20 minute off the bench role.
Liked what I saw from Shump, Hardaway, Cole, Dalambert, Early, Calderon, Melo- most of the team to be honest. They still have a ways to go to get the system down, but individually they played well.
Also Melo seems much much quicker when busting a move- wow!
