Wow!!! Tough Blow for OKC in a tough western conference in terms of seeding....Westbrook needs to stay healthy....

Moonangie @ 10/12/2014 11:40 AM
Wow, sucks for KD and OKC. But it'll help my kids' fantasy teams: Neither got the first pick (consensus KD).
CrushAlot @ 10/12/2014 11:41 AM
Just saw that. 6-8 weeks is optimistic according to the article by cbs.
babyKnicks @ 10/12/2014 11:41 AM
And the nba2k14 box jinx returns.
dk7th @ 10/12/2014 11:53 AM
now we'll get to see what westbrook is made of. i doubt the team is going to be play .500 ball with him trying to "orchestrate."
smackeddog @ 10/12/2014 11:56 AM
The basketball injury gods have struck hard these past few days- Bradley Beal is out with a broken wrist, and now Durant is down. Durant was due an injury (he has been amazingly injury free most of his career)- it'll be interesting to see how Westbrook lifts his game- I do like him, so I hope he does well.
BRIGGS @ 10/12/2014 11:58 AM
They also lost Mitch McGary to the same injuury. Theyve done a good job rebuilding that frontline with Adams and MM--a lot of young quality size there to augment Durant Westbrook Lamb and Jackson. Not a long term injury--but the foot is a worrisome spot.

Maybe we should stop NBA players from playing in pre- season along with the Olympics and other international tournaments lol

Huge loss for them. And that time line can be a bit short imo, you don't rush a guy that is super tall like him back. I'm surprised he hasn't been hurt before tbh.
Wonder how it will affect them throughout the year as that is a huge loss.
Chemistry is going to take time to get back, though they have been playing together for years.
I wonder how Westbrook is going to hold up now though...

Wow, sucks for OKC. I'll be interested to see how good Westbrook, and the rest of the team, is without KD. Also, this will just exacerbate the bad offseason/draft they just had. The stupidity they pulled in the draft, drafting Mitch McGary and Josh Huestis when they could have gotten Rodney Hood and Kyle Anderson, is going to look even worse now.
Hector @ 10/12/2014 4:51 PM
So glad there is an NBA forum to read this in
RonRon @ 10/12/2014 8:16 PM
They actually have a lot of talent on their bench

Josh Huestis
Mitch McGary *he is a BIG BOY that is quite skilled*

a couple of draft picks this year and the addition of a shooting specialist in Morrow

the development of their young players were hidden on their bench and now they will get the chance to show their skills off

Lamb
Steven Adams
Perry Jones

Grant Jerrett

veterans with Westbrook and Ibaka

Reggie Jackson
Anthony Morrow

Nick Collison

I have no clue why OKC is so cheap to not amnesty Perkins, had they done so they could have the full 5m MLE (closer to 6m) either 2 get in addition to Morrow's quality or greater, Sessions and Bliar were signed for a 2 year 4m total, by amnestying Perkins, they would be able to give a 4 year deal compared to only a 3 year deal to Morrow and make up the difference in raises/years with the 4th being a player or team option (partial guaranteed)

Only award he is going to win is on Shaqting a Fool

I was saying since before the season ended that we should have targetted

Sessions, Bayless, DJ Augistine as they were in our price range
Sessions was the most consistent of the 3 and has been a journey man through his under rated career
The past 2 seasons, he also developed a 3pt shot to go with his ability to penetrate/facilitate/ and score, he is very under rated and could play PG/SG
Instead we have Pablo on our bench who is suppose to be a 4th string PG at best

James Johnson was on my target list since 2010, who was still in the D League last season

Brandon Wright and Gereld Green were also on my list since 2010, who were once vet min players
As well as DeMarre Carrol, Anthony Tolliver, Darko, and a few others

Nice quote from Phil hoping to put an end to wild statements like this.

Phil said Dolan gave him assurances that he would have freedom to make basketball decisions - even allowing Carmelo to walk if he choosed

Yeah, I'm glad PJax has the freedom to go get Houston's garbage back, if he so chooses!
