The Celtics need to trade Rondo immediately for whatever assets they can get for him. He's been looking less than stellar while Marcus Smart looks like a star in the waiting. They are playing the Mavs exceptionally well tonight and I've been thoroughly impressed with their roster and Brad Stevens coaching (which dates back to last season).

Dallas may have the best offense in the league
Just going by how efficient they've been and overall output
Parsons is delivering too along with Chandler
Tyson Chandler? You couldn't get a bag of basketballs for the guy. He's washed up/useless! We were lucky to get the almighty Calderon for him. Cause obviously the Mavericks had no idea what they were doing!

Rondo looked like vintage Rondo game 1 of the season
He's averaging over 10ast/gm and he didn't play 1 preseason game
He's a breath away from a walking triple double
Not refuting whether they need to trade him
But I think he's close to what he was or approaching it rapidly

I wasn't doubting that Rondo couldn't regain his form. I just think that he's going through the motions and so long as he's doing that, the Celtics run the risk of his trade value plummetting. They are already losing leverage the closer they get to the offseason and can't have that compounded by disinterested play. More importantly, they shouldn't have Rondo taking minutes away from Smart who is obviously there for the long haul.
On a side, Jeff Green has been looking pretty good. Could he finally be fulfilling his potential? Once upon a time, I thought we could acquire him (as well as Brandon Bass and Gerald Wallace) for Amare's expirer but now I'm not too sure.

You're past fulfilling potential mode
When you almost have 10yrs in the league
Jeff Green has always underachieved but he's a nice player
He probably is coveted by quite a few teams

Touche. He'll probably go on one of his patented cold streaks and destroy whatever promise/hope from his early start.
Is it just me or is Brian Shaw and AWFUL head coach?
boy does that deron williams trade a huge win for the Jazz.
Agreed. But to be fair, the Jazz's heady drafting is what made it worthwhile. A bit of a tangent but I still wish we traded Melo to the Bulls and followed a similar strategy. Fortunately, the team looks good so far, which has helped me stay content with the decision to keep him.
Love him or hate him Prokorov is hilarious with this comments on Kidd. Insert Drago voice...
"Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you"
On losing $144mil last season, "It's not a big deal"

Prokorov is having fun and his purchase of Nets and share of Barclays was genious.
He dropped "Branding" on us by admitting getting pierce and Garnett was about increasing the brand awareness.
Personally I love the Russian and am facinated by the Nets approach, even if it fails!!!! The infusion of euro's speaks to his "Branding" to appeal in Europe.
Billy King has a plan. Not to say all plans succeed but its a plan. They take chances and its interesting!
Im fine with the Nets succeeding as long as its not at the expense of the knicks!

especially considering he's not Deron Williams any more
I've been watching deron this year. He looks significantly thinner and quicker. He seems to be back to his old self. Healthy & playing well
mreinman wrote:boy does that deron williams trade a huge win for the Jazz.
I think as far as future they will be okay
But you'd like the trade to prove it's value in the W-L
Thus far the Jazz have done nothing but lose since the trade
Not to mention Nets have some good pieces still
You can't look at a trade solely on
What player was supposed to be good and are they still at that level
You primarily look at it from the perspective
What has it done and will it do for our franchise overall
Plumlee-Bogo-Keresev-Brown can be very good prospects in time
Plumlee obviously but Bogo is quite intriguing for sure
NardDogNation wrote:Is it just me or is Brian Shaw and AWFUL head coach?
His biggest weakness is not knowing who he should play
And which players play better with each other
What happened is yesterday's game should be pretty obvious
At least for the rest of this month who he's gotta roll with
He finally benched Gallo in favor of Chandler
And if Chandler doesn't pick it up fast
He may have to bench him in favor of Gee
Denver's biggest strength right now is their athleticism
Those are the players he needs play together the majority of minutes
Play the other guys who have skills and are more suited for a half court game together
That trade is a few years and Nets certainly have not benefited on the court from it.
Deron had his dreaded surgeries and seems to be on a path to getting back to where he was.
He really bottomed out last year.
The Jazz have been rebuilding for a few years now. Favors is a good player but not really blossomed into someone special yet. He is still young.
In the New CBA Jazz have been going about it the right way. They draw very well in Salt Lake and its the only game in town.

Well if we use the Melo trade rationale
What was New Jersey before they traded for Deron
What was Brooklyn after they traded for Deron
They have made the playoffs 2 straight yrs and
They won 2 first round series in 2yrs and
Won more regular season and playoff games over the past 2yrs than we have
We also both have the same record at this current time
Brooklyn's main issue probably isn't Deron but moreso Lopez
And not having immediate future assets in the fold to add to their foundation

who cares about first round wins? And, Deron was not the reason why they went to the playoffs.
You are attempting to compare two very different situations.

Agreed never understood why this was stated
In justifying the Melo trade referring to the 54win season and playoffs
First round exits right?
As far as Deron true he hasn't proved his worth
Neither really has Melo
It can make some feel good they feel Melo is better than him
And we've received more value in comparison but who cares
We didn't trade for Melo to walk away saying he's better than Deron
As of the here and now Brooklyn also has a Top 5 offense
Jazz have yet to sniff the playoffs so drawing attention away from Deron
I think this needs to be addressed first if you're going to anoint their state of affairs
Best game on T.V. tonight besides Knicks vs Wizards
Rox vs Heat and Bosh-Harden are playing like MVPs
Nalod wrote:Im fine with the Nets succeeding as long as its not at the expense of the knicks!
Being in the same division, how does that work, exactly? Lose to the Knicks in the playoffs would be a success?
Your capitalization gives you away almost every time....
