Reality check:
Ignore the obvious. Guess what the face of rebuilding looks like? Look at his team.
Not just the front office got rebuilt, not just the coaches, or new players, but the whole offensive and defensive scheme with a whole new system.
And if you think at the start of the year we'd win 50 game, or even .500 then its expecations that got you.

The Knicks have played in THREE back-to-backs already, two or which had ONE day rest between them. They have a highly retooled team and are implementing a new system. Said system is not only one of the most successful with the right players, but it is clearly not easy to learn and use or EVERYONE would be using it.
I'd like to think we all want the Knicks to be succeeding, but I know there are quite a few folks here that want them to fail as long as Melo is on the team. A rough start was expected and is part of why Kerr took the GS job, because he didn't want to deal with growing pains. He took over a successful team from a successful coach that rubbed ownership the wrong way. Arguably the only reason GS showed interest is because Phil let it be known he was a viable candidate for coach. Kerr's luck is not to be discounted (he always had it as a player getting to play with Jordan and then Duncan).
That said, we all know that the Warriors are a better team right now. It's still a long season, so let's see how it all plays out, shall we. And yes, we can all cheer as well as bitch and moan as we like...that's part of being a fan, ESPECIALLY a Knicks fan.
Tonights game against the Hawks is going to be a a big test for fisher, lets see if he can make the adjustment.
We have lost 4 straight games in similar fashion, blown leads, lack of perimeter defense, lack of FT shooting, TO's, and melo's horrid shooting.
We can't lose tonight, this is a early must win game

Really think that Warrior had no interest in Kerr until phil did? I thought I read Kerr had not made his mind up to coach and has a history with Warriors ownership and their president, who used to work in PHX.
I especially like the rumor that Walsh by letting it be known he liked Curry is why Warriors drafted him ahead of us. As is they don't do their own scouting?
I believe with Curry's ankle problems we'd have crushed the kid and Dolan exiled him long before he healed. Most likely a throw in for the Melo trade.

That doesn't mean that Kerr is the better coach. He has a better roster than Fisher; most of all,he is not using the triangle as his system. His system is give Curry the green light to play basketball. They are also a much better defensive team

Kerr is using some aspects of the Triangle and the Spurs Motion offense. He just basically is constantly moving his guards and getting them open looks on curls and screens. They don't look to slow down like we do since they are basically going with their strengths which isn't in the post. The way the Knicks run the Triangle isn't much different in that we very rarely use the Triangle post feed and mostly use the other options in the offense. Kerr has taken that approach to an even higher degree cuz he has the guards who can run it like a Ferrari. Kerr knows his strength is at PG and wing and he's playing fast so they get a ton of open looks.
The Knicks don't have the same team make up as the Warriors. We don't have a couple of quick release guards like Curry and Thompson. We also have our star player at the SF/F spot and he actually wants to post up more than run around and play catch and shoot. Kerr clearly had the easier job!!! Still it must be noted that our starting PG hasn't played a game yet and we've had more injuries to deal with on top of all the other issues that have been noted in this thread.
I wouldnt say Kerr has the easier job...that teams goal is championship and they have the pieces. Come up short and he wont last. Fisher will be here no matter what, and right now he doesnt have anything near the goals that GS has nor the pieces.
All Fisher has to do really is instill his system at the moment...his contending years wont be for another 2 possibly three. Kerr has to instill his system and win very soon, damn near immediately.

IIec, Fisher and Kerr has the same deal, but I may be wrong. there was definitely factors in him going there as you pointed out. I just dont think he has an easier job. that team arguably has some of the best collective talent in the entire NBA, and with that comes pressure to win.

Talent makes it easier to win. Talent with character makes it even easier. He has both.
Warriors = Players with better BB IQ, more talented guards, better C, PF who can pass/score, better passing team that is suited to play in a triangle system
Knicks = 1 great + decent/ok players but pretty much all of them lack good BB IQ

Yup. Phil knows this. Fish knows it too. Who wouldn't want to start with Curry making you look great? Phil could only grab Jose. I'm pretty sure he would've loved to have Curry. It's just a longer road but we already knew that.
