The guy went through an Oprah moment and confessed that last season he was consumed by anger and just would cut himself off from the rest of the world...but last night that disturbing anger returned:
- his halftime interview with Trautwig; acted like he wanted to kill Al
- his needless jawing and getting violently physical with that German kid Shroeder
- his inbounds blast right at Sefolosha's groin (watch the video, that play did not have to be done with such anger and violence)
This kid may not be on the level of the NFL's criminals, but he sure is displaying behavior that is cause for concern. Could his behavior be the thing that ultimately gets him traded out of here?
yes i agree with the OP ... shump is a punk. that's all there is to it. seems like a spoiled kid.
Although it doesn't excuse him. I think he's mad because the Knicks make too many dumb mistake and they play with no passion/heart.

Shumpert is the main culprit. He took a couple of bad shots and turned the ball over several times himself
I posted about that in a thread I started yesterday. He seems cancerous. His defense isn't all that either, just ask Deron williams. Cursing out teammates in a emasculating way is not how you go about leading or getting out frustration.
I was starting to get back on the Shump train this year but I'm noticing this behavior. I want him outta here...we need guys here that come together like family. Even through tough times. Fight like family not like a spoiled brat. We need some real men on our team. Shump is not that guy. Jr as well. Gotta eliminate the cancerous behavior
Would rather have a passionate, committed player than a passive, completely socially adjusted one. Its not like Shump is getting suspended for punching nutsacks, untying sneakers or getting pulled over with weed.

Not sure about that inbounds pass though. If that was JR my guess is he would be out.

He also runs the shot clock down just looking around aimlessly then gives it to somebody with less than 3 seconds left. Resulted in several 24 sec violations and horrendous shots as the clock expired for either himself or others.
It is going to be very easy to find instances where Shump screwed up. The difference thus far this year is he has become highly involved and is in the middle of plays most of the time. And he has several ways he needs to clean up his game to really excel.
Don't misinterpret this, because I'm not defending his bad plays. I simply think there will be more because he is trying to be involved more and the instances of good plays and bad plays will both increase as a result.
I'm just glad he's playing with gusto. He has been the team's leader after all. That says a lot about him. It may say something about the rest of the team by inference, but at least somebody is stepping up.
the more involved he gets the more you see why prior coaches didnt get him involved.
He should not have an offensive play called for him ever.
He should not the responsibility of making decisions with the basketball. Ever.
He defends well. Let him go do that. He can make athletic hustle plays. Let him go do that. Play him at PG and what you see is what you get. A terrible offensive team with post players getting hit in the face with entry passes.

Maybe he just wanted to see Amare go 5-1?
No pressure to come back Jose... no pressure
I love it. The only guy with true Knick pride on this team. If only we had more players like him. We'd have the 90s Knicks

Weed is a great idea for Shump. It could help him zone in but Peacify him a bit, and probably enhance his musical abilities, which will then open him further.
At least he can use it in half the States with a prescription. Much better pain killer and muscle relaxant, mind opener and safe for the liver than anything the Doc gives athletes.
Regarding Shump, haven't seen his game yet but most are talking positively again about him. Woodson must have really crumbled the kid. Glad he is back, at least he can be
traded if we decide as he would be restricted to the team that trades for him.

Woodson called him Rook after his first season. Very fucc'd up stuff.
I think Shump should go full Boyz n' the Hood and play with a big-azz pacifier in his mouth and a giant hair pick sticking out the side of his Fro. When his hair gets tall enough, he can glue a silver platter on top and have a row of loose joints sitting there.
I did see that with Al Trautwig--I noticed he looked like he was like get out of my face. That can happen. Shump is playing very well right now--better than I thought capable. If this is Shump than we have atleast three players going 4ward THJ Melo and Shump. THJ again should be getting more minutes--he's an offensive gem and we lack offense.
Were going to have a period next year of
A. Addition by subtraction. Some of the reasons we lose is the team is a cluster fck--its just not put together well is distorted and unbalanced especially at the 1 and 5.
B. Addition by choice. We should have a high draft pick AND money for a top tier FA. Then we can also be involved in looking for opportunistic avenues. I will not fully kill the Calderon trade even though it might end up costing us in FA. We snagged 3 young assets--maybe they werent top tier picks- but you take calculated risks sometimes. I personally would not have done that particular one but it may end up making us worse and helping us in the end another way.
I have not watched a lot of our play this season, but what I have seen is Shump seemingly being involved in the offense in a positive way.
He seems to understand the system and his role in it.
He is the second leading scorer.
Maybe asking him to orchestrate is too much.
yea he is ok as a secondary ball handler. He will look even better once Calderon is back

You got it twisted. His passion is cancerous. You can't win on any level if guys are cursing out teammates on the court in the way that i noticed. He's a diva type of guy. You can never call him a leader. His play has been more productive yes, but there is a reason we lose and he's a huge part of that. I'd love to see him outta here asap. We need winners not guys that sulk and and throw tantrums at his teammates. Winners may curse guys out but for the sake of uplifting and keeping guys focused not to degrade them. He needs to be shipped to a veteran team that will check that bullshit to the curb. Our current group doesn't have those types of guys out there. That's why we suck.

Excellent post. Well said.
Look, Shump can play. We all know that. But his head is all wrong. It affects his play and the team's play. That ain't good.
