After OKC scored 109 (without their two superstars) tonight the Knicks now have the lowest average points per game in the whole NBA.
usually teams that can't score make up for it on the defensive end. Man what a mess
To be fair, we have the slowest pace in the league. I had a post a couple of days ago where I adjusted for pace and we had the 21st worst offense; still really bad but not worst in the league. Defensively, I think we were 28th

According to basketball-reference we're ranked 21st on offense and 27th on defense. Another, related, major issue is our point differential: -6.7 That's 4th worst in the league; only better than Philly, LAL, and Denver.
That s*** deserves the number one pick in the 2015 draft!
our FTA diff is the most alarming

But I remember reading on here for months about how Denver was the franchise of the future!!! How'd that happen?
Oh wait, that's right they play in a tougher conference. With Durant and Westbrook. And the Clips! And the Jazz! And Houston, who everyone knew was going to be great once Hardon didn't have to deal with all those second tier players that left.
I wonder how much league rankings would mean if we were 7-2...

This is what's known as verbal diarrhea. And only the most delusional fan could believe that stats like points scored and points against have no relation to winning.

I think your point differential is the greatest predictor of where a franchise will finish as far as won/loss record.
4th worst record? Sign me up for a top 5 pick with hopefully a good chance into the top 3.

Thisi what's known as the annual verbal PMS. Because only the most astute basketball fans know that 9 games worth of data are locked down bets for the outcomes of an entire 82 game season. Did you remortgage your house on our lottery pick yet?

How about looking at the winning percentage during the entire Melo era? It's probably a little better than .470 but not much!

Going to require the NBA Draft Rig Magic. This Sixers tank job is absurd and can't be matched. That team is a joke. Down 50 at the half last night. Unbelievable.

Somebody actually challenged that? Their active roster is comprised on fringe NBA players and D-Leagues outside of Melo. Who would score other than Melo was a legit concern going into the year and it has been worse than I even imagined. It is more of a personnel issue than coaching issue. Most the players lack the skills and understanding of the game for us to score enough to be competitive.

Agree with your points on the offense being one of the worst in the league. I don't really follow all of the advanced metrics so some of that was beyond me until I research them and what they actually mean. I couldn't find anything from myself in there (looked on mobile), but I have mentioned in numerous threads that I think the offense will continue to struggle and has limited hope given the lack of perimeter shooters, which skills spacing. I complained about this last year as well. The miss open 3s and deep 2s with regularity that is mind-blowing for a NBA team.
