Bargs adds nothing to no one. The guy can't even make it onto the court. I doubt a prospective contender like OKC would be willing to lose an active body in Perkins for Bargnani.
And there isn't a chance in the world that anyone is giving up a first rounder for Amare, especially when there is a good chance that the pick will be a lottery pick. Toronto is definitely not giving up Amir Johnson but I could see them rolling the dice on Amare if they have enough expiring contracts to non-consequential players to make it happen.
As a side, why would the Magic want Calderon? He'd be every bit as useless to them as he is to us. If Calderon gets moved, it would have to be to a contender.
I think the perfect players for Amar'e is a rim protecting spot up three pt shooting big and then 3 other guys who are good on ball defenders.
OKC would be a decent place for him with Ibaka.He could get back to his High Pnr days and play a good 20 min off the bench. On a good team Amar'e would be okay off the bench.
The Pelicans would be another place for him playing with Anthony Davis and Asik but they have Ryan Anderson off the bench.
If Iggy keeps playing like he has been playing I could see GSW wanting do a deal for STAT to get Lee and A.I. off the books. I would definately try to offer Jackson that if I was GSW. They would get $27M off of their cap next year. That is a stupid deal for the Knicks though if they take on Iggy contract.
If his contract was for $3-5M everyone would overlook his defense. So it may be possible that a team looking to make a push tries to trade for Amar'e. However the trade is only good for the knicks if they receive expiring contracts back and a 2nd rder, but , there are not any teams that have enough expiring salary to make a deal work.

They are loaded with young players they need quality vets that can shoot and help them grow. They may even be a playoff team next yr.

Look for a team that has a big go down with an injury that Amare can help fill that need. Then you have some leverage.
Nothing happens until December 15. Then the rich will get richer while the feeble will look forr youthier assets.

OKC has Serge Ibaka who offers even better floor spacing than Bargnani at this stage of his career. And if they really want to get creative, they could move Perry Jones III to the stretch 4 spot, who has an even better inside-outside game. I fail to see Bargnani's value in any context beyond an expirer, especially if he's being traded for another expirer. How many games has Bargnani even played the past 4 season?

The only "dimension" Bargs adds is chittiness. He is a negative sum player and always has been. No team in the league wants Bargs for anything basketball related. He sucks.
